The baseball families are incredibly supportive and generous, and I recommend you reach out to bring baseball into the 1843 and use those resources wisely. I am 100% behind supporting the CAF and 1843, they must co-exist.

It can change, and I hope it does so the league gets better. The Conference of Convenience needs to become one that promotes superior academics and is committed to winning athletics. While the current league membership includes some schools with top academic reputations (Georgetown and Colgate), the rest of the conference is a level below those two schools. We should be looking for one or two other schools with solid athletic programs that can make the league a better option for players and fans. If we do this the additions won't be coming from New England.

Failed to successfully compete in the MAAC. Won one championship, shared w/LaSalle in our years in the league. HC has not been willing to make the large expenditures to compete with larger programs. Failure to compete in the PL is not a stepping stone to compete in a higher level conference. HC's decisions are academically based as they should be. The PL is a good fit with like minded academic institutions. MM, I think we are aligned, but with that said, the reason we do nothing more is that the board and Administration have little or no desire to increase the investment of the treasures in athletic programs—I think that is how the PL member schools are linked. That linkage about like-minded academic institutions made the move many years ago understandable to many and acceptable to others. When our boomer generation and perhaps the next generation are no longer active and the athletic history and tradition no longer significantly impact the institution's financial support (general fund/estate giving/ athletics, etc.), they might consider less expensive options. This is a potential scenario that we need to be prepared for and underscores the importance of increasing investments today in our athletic programs. I am not saying we should consider or explore the possibilities of a move, mostly because in the world of today, some improved version of the PL might be the best solution for HC. As realignment takes place over the next couple of years, it is likely that we will welcome a few new partners in the next edition of the Patriot League, and yes, we might lose a couple, including the academies. The Athletic Directors should start envisioning the next edition of the Patriot League, one that not only improves the quality of play but also requires its members to demonstrate a shared commitment to academic and athletic excellence. While there are similar models embraced by other schools in the northeast this could be designed for the mission and benefit of Holy Cross!

8 rebounds per game-pretty solid for a guard and that is going to be important next season as we need to replace the Octave rebounds. Also, I would think with the penetration we get from Boston and Williams, our perimeter players (Green, Nugent, Singelton, and Richard) will get a ton of good looks form beyond the three- point line and in other open areas of the court. I stand by my earlier comments that future playing time will be determined by playing strong individual and team defense.

This will be an exciting class based on their on-court numbers/performance only!

He was an assistant coach at Loyola (Md.) from 2013-17 after spending the 2012-13 campaign at Rutgers as its Director of Operations. Before that, he was a four-year assistant at Lafayette (2008-12). And an assistant at Williams 05-07 Very good hire by Loyola. He's a very good fit for the PL. DP hired Loeffler as his asst at Williams. He is a great guy and recruited a few of my AAU players- he and Coach were at many games

Dollars yes, substantial dollars across the board are the future
Not from groups like 1843 but from community, regional, and national business investments not directly attached to anything but their commercial interests

You think any NC State fan cares right now? No way. You are 100% right. They have the best team $ can buy (to get to the final four, at least). I, for one, have a big problem with this. Perhaps some believe that They put together an interesting group that built a chemistry and culture- very little to do with dollars but strategic work of recruiting by the staff

Perhaps a few sports need an Nil since we don't have the scholarships necessary to compete and the CAF is proving not to be enough to significantly transform those programs

Fair enough, but I could make a strong case for Kenney and four freshmen experiencing a majority of the minutes and feel good about the future.
