I know the song, but what is the connection with the Cooz? I must be missing something The Cooz and the group that sang the song attended Andrew Jackson High School in Queens.

Had a long response but before posting got lost in etherland. Not going to re-type but one question: Will Crucis and HC45 be switching back to the old home side now that the crowds (some, anyway) will be moving to the other, President's box, side? I will determine on a game by game basis. However, I still prefer the north side.

Watched a bit of the W lax game and the field held up very well - this natural grass surface has been amazing since being installed I was at Fitton this afternoon. There were no apparent issues regarding footing or playability with the field throughout the game today. Nice to have a video board to see replays of the goals being scored. Width of field did not seemed to be a concern regarding the game. Hope this was the first of an annual event for both Lax teams at Fitton. Nice crowd in attendance.

Hoping that the conversion of Smith Soccer Stadium to a Field Turf Pitch occurs in this decade. Lax and Soccer will move into the expanded stadium and have access to the locker room and bathroom facilities planned for the new softball stadium.
Three years ago the plan was unveiled. The next Capital Campaign should have funds allocated for construction.

Agree on all points of objective criteria.
Outside of scholarships, can anyone articulate the resources that are needed to elevate the level of play for this team.

Watching the game this past Saturday, the team made several fundamental mistakes, such as shot clock expiration, and failure to back up shots behind goal which allowed turnovers.
The team also is very slow in starting their offense. At times they seemed hesitant to take shots. Too much lateral pass, pass, pass. They are not quick enough to create and identify on attack a player that is open or in breaking a 10 man ride.
The defense has been abysmal and the ride at times has not shown the skills required to play as a D1 team.

But one of the nicest to meet in person.
Back in the day, ( February of 1965) I sat next to him during game one of a NBA double headed at Convention Hall in Philadelphia. The Knicks were playing game one and the Sixers were in game two. Luke was coming off having been a member of the US Olympic Basketball team. He could not have been more gracious.
Sitting in the section were some of the legends of college hoops, including Hal Lear ( who years later became the stepfather of a HC Alum), Ira Harge, and Jim Washington to name some that I remember.
Those were the days when there were NBA double headers, and admission for children was about 2 dollars. On certain promotion nights, a basketball was included with your ticket. And yes, Dave Zinkoff was the PA announcer.

Probably due to the wet conditions in Fitton Field, and Freshman Field. A lot of rain this week.

I do not recall Lax ever being played in Fitton. If so, it occurred prior to 1970. Have to give the Athlectic Department and the coaches credit for trying something new to generate excitement of one form or another as the school year ends.
Next year, in April, they should play Lax in Smith Soccer Stadium.

I too have seen an issue at CCSU with fan interaction. It occurred several years ago at a game between Robert Morris and CCSU on 11/16/19. A very intense shouting match occurred which was close to a physical fight occurring. The CCSU fans instigated the confrontation.
For several years I have sat on the north side of Fitton. I always try to generate a positive interaction with the visiting fans, most likely they are parents of a visiting team player. Have had some informative insights regarding both teams, particularly their pre game scouting assessments. Most recently talking to several parents from UNH, Colgate and Georgetown have been enjoyable.

I saw Dave at the Army game. In typical Dugan fashion, he was wearing a purple Holy Cross sweater from probably 1972. And I agree, if we’re going to be hitting the WCAC (Gonzaga’s conference) more often…would love to get him with Coach Curran. Guy bleeds purple. Tough as nails LB. The Gonzaga Coach, Randy Trivers, is a Holy Cross guy. He has already suggested that his OT, Xavier Rienzo, consider Holy Cross. Xavier is a rising junior and lettered as a freshman and started as a sophomore. Xavier is the grandson of former Georgetown AD Frank Rienzo. Randy Trivers, Head Coach Coach Trivers has been coaching football for 27 years, including 20 years as head coach of three different football programs. He was the first coach in the history of Northwest High School in Germantown, Maryland, where in nine seasons he led the team to five Division Championships, three Regional Championships, and one State Championship. He was also the Head Coach at Leesburg High School in Leesburg, Florida, for four seasons where he led the team to four straight winning seasons, two state playoff appearances, and its first home playoff win and District Championship since 1969. In recent years, Coach Trivers has led the Eagles to a 63-23 record in eight seasons including back-to-back DCSAA State Championship Titles and the first WCAC Championship since 2002. Coach Trivers attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he played running back and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in African American Studies. After college, he earned a Masters degree in Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. A member of Gonzaga’s English Department, Trivers teaches Classic Literature and African American Literature. He and his wife, Amanda, have two sons, Rex and Rhys. While reviewing a video on You Tube, a couple of days ago, of this year’s Cherry Blossoms, I saw a young man wearing a sweatshirt with the HC shield. Upon doing some research, he was with the Gonzaga College High School Photography Club. I was pleasantly surprised to see the HC logo shield appear among the hundreds of people walking around the tidal basin in the morning of March 20, 2024.

Unless there is a safety issue with food trucks (propane tanks?) under the stands there is level room for them; it may cost a few VIP parking spaces allocated to the VIP Box. Is there a bathroom and running water in the VIP Box? There are two sections in the north side VIP Box. One for the President and his guest, the other for the AD. I have been told there is bathroom in the facility.

With the Crusaders flipping sidelines, there may be more of a distribution of fans, throughout the stadium. Some will continue to sit on the south side out of tradition or habit. Change, for many, can be difficult to accept.
We will see… September 7th.

Have to admit, it was a once in a lifetime experience to sit on the north side, and watch the crowd reaction on the south side during the Fordham game in 2022. Seeing the elation of HC fans and the team from across the field, was an unparalleled treat.

Dang!!
I moved to the north side several years ago to avoid the density. It was nice while it lasted…..
Many of us who have staked out north side seating will not appreciate the influx. The cat is out of the bag regarding better sight lines as well as ease to get to the men’s room.
Looking at the seating chart to determine my new location for 2024.

I wonder where Justin Burrell’s next stop will be, now that change is underway at The Mount.
Hope he lands on his feet with a solid coaching position. Would be very nice if a head coaching position becomes available to him somewhere.

Wholly:
Thank you for answering the question. In all the years of visiting the campus since graduation, I could not identify the room as a Holy Cross facility.
