Fortunately they are in New England, and hope for sunny skies in South Kingston and Smithfield. Planning on attending both. Maybe the games will be picked up on NESN+
But like so many, I really do not like Flo Sports and will not be subscribing to their platform.

Wilbarrr trotted back to the paddock.🙂 (Looks like I’m the only who gets the reference!) Was one of my favorite shows to watch as a kid on a Ainday night with my parents. Best episode was the baseball game with the Dodgers. Featuring….Leo,who almost played at HC, Durocher. Too bad he got in trouble in High School. Could have add to the interesting history of HC baseball.

Just dawned on me that Sam Thomson looks a little like Greg Marmalard from Animal House. Too bad the previous staff did not show a real solid interest in him and recruited him harder. He liked HC. His family currently lives in Connecticut.

I always thought the most logical corporate sponsor would have been the "Polar Igloo" but the WooSox most likely took that branding away from us. Maybe the soda makers would countenance two branded athletic venues but that would seem to be unlikely. How does the "Pepsi Ice Palace" sound? The "Jet Blue Frozen Hangar" has a certain ring to it also. It's been mentioned we have some connections with both these two fine public facing enterprises. I had the same thoughts regarding corporate sponsorship for a new ice facility atop Mt. St. James.

This would be sparsely attended. Awful idea. The MAAC plays their tournament at Boardwalk Hall in AC and attendance isn't great. The MAAC having it in AC this year dates back to them throwing Monmouth a bone when they joined. And now they're gone. The MAAC should just stay in Albany every year but no one likes that Siena gets huge home court advantage so they switch it up every 3 or 4 years for that reason. They've done Buffalo, Springfield, Bridgeport and now AC. Mohegan probably would fit the mold too now that they have another New England team coming in Merrimack. Two new New England teams with the addition of Merrimack and Sacred Heart. maacsports.com/news/2023/10/22/baseball-maac-welcomes-merrimack-college-and-sacred-heart-university-as-newest-full-members.aspx

A Holy Cross Sports Museum is strongly being considered and in the preliminary planning stages in the Hart Center as part of the Hall of Fame. I would expect to see it being constructed within the next five years once the money is raised. It will have exhibits as well as interactive displays featuring video such as Purple Reign and highlights of significant victories, thinking the 1988 Princeton game, etc. This is in conjunction with a renovated rink, with expanded seating? No, my understanding, the planned Hall of Fame Sports Museum now under consideration, will be created before a renovated rink will be built. Maybe within the next two to three years. I hope that there is a completely new rink. Either a complete tear down of the present structure, or the present rink remains as a practice rink or indoor tennis facility, and a new rink is built, maybe across the circular road, around the Luth Athletic Complex. It is time to look for a large corporate sponsorship with naming rights for a significant contribution. Ahead of a new rink or expanded rink being built will be the new softball complex being constructed. Hope to see progress made on both venues within this decade.

The Athletic Director/Football Coach/Baseball Coach, was a halfback on the HC teams from 1933/1937. Interesting and entertaining to read the Purple Patchers from that era.

Knowing the outcome, it was enjoyable watching the replay, especially a heads-up, regarding the time the goals were scored.

A close friend, quite a bit older, was a Penn grad as was his dad. Extremely bright. He came from a Penn family, stretching back before his youth in the '30's.He remembered Penn big time football playing teams such as Navy& Michigan. He bemoaned the dropping of those games in favor of an all IL schedule. However he was quite proud & embraced Penn's deemphasis in favor of academics. He was a stickler on doing it the right way. In the 80's - 90's HC kicked Penn's butt big time at Fitton. We were at the game. He was pissed. Felt HC unnecessarily rolled it up. Some time later at Franklin Field , again against HC, Penn equaled the final score of the earlier game HC in the first half and continued the romp in the second half. We were there. He was quite pleased with the payback. What goes around... We were close and both understood. I don't believe they have scheduled HC since that game. I was at both games, having close family affiliation with Penn. My Aunt graduated from the School of Education in 1947, and my Dad worked for Penn. Needless to say, sitting in the rain at Franklin Field was not a pleasant experience as Penn won that afternoon. Franklin Field was the site of my first football game in 1957, to see the Eagles play the Los Angeles Rams.

Bobby Kelly to St. John's? - but that was another era In the late 70’s, Peter Cole, from Tabor Academy, played one year at HC, before transferring to Vermont.

In the Hart Center tonight, after the HC game, the last couple of minutes of the AU-Loyola game was shown on the video boards for those in attendance.
As soon as the AU-Loyola game was over, the video board had a picture of the team, with Patriot League Regular Season Champions banner. Excellent package put together by video team.

Interesting video recently posted on You Tube and the Big Green Alert Blog regarding the Ivy League and a very hypothetical scenario regarding relevancy and expansion.
