We've had some very good football student athletes from Loyola Academy in Illinois, QB Pujals and OL Jimmy Murray to name a few. Loyola just won its second consecutive state championship-8A-in the largest division. HC should continue to target Loyola Academy in Illinois.

Smoke and mirrors? OMG. Spare me.
Wow.
The simple fact is if your people are NOT being approached and potentially hired away, you likely are 1. not attracting talented people in the first place 2. not developing your talent 3. otherwise operating a bucket shop-style operation that does not lead to your people attracting interest.
When your people are attracting real interest from high profile schools that certainly reflects well on the individual but also on the operation, that is, our college.
People who do not see this and appreciate this and think "woe is us" and we are a "smoke and mirrors operation" might want to exhale and take a wider angled view of things.
Holy Cross and specifically HCFB are in a unique position to continue to generate national level success. People from coaches, assistant coaches, student-athletes, parents and beyond want to be connected with 1. quality 2. excellence and the commitment to the same and 3. character that all leads to 'winning both on and off the field, courts and other fields of play. This menu is what Holy Cross is serving and the patrons are buying and they are very very happy which is why HCFB has attracted many high level recruits over these last number of years. Why do you think Bob Chesney came here in the first place? He saw the potential at HC. He realized that potential.
Now the job for whether it is BC or whomever is our head coach is to sustain it. Make no mistake, though, that effort to sustain is not and will not be the SOLE responsibility of the head coach. It is now and always will be a group/team effort.
Maybe BC stays and I will be very happy for him and continue to support him.
Maybe BC leaves and I will be very happy for him and continue to support him as a friend and one of his biggest fans. Not a lot of overlap between SU and HC although the bottom of the ACC is closer to the MAC than the P5 schools and we have shown an ability to compete at this level. Let's sustain that. I am confident ADKH has a list of a half dozen top flight candidates who will be very interested in our head coaching position if it were to open up.
No interest in whining or wailing and gnashing of teeth. Not taking a back seat to anybody.
Great days to be a Crusader!!
LET'S WIN!! Everyone moves on eventually. If Coach moves on, just reload and continue the great momentum td128 et al have accentuated! Go Cross!

My take....this group of Seniors/5th year guys are basically going out together....they had hopes and aspirations of a great season this year and fate being what it is, it just didn't play out. They collectively gave HC all they could and now it's time to move on...I wish them nothing but great success moving forward and thank them for bringing so much joy back to following HC football. A huge Chu Chu Rah Rah to all these guys!!! Tis been a pleasure! Seconded! Good luck all Crusaders from the 2023 team!

I agree completely. I like to read the bios because it adds a lot of depth to what we might otherwise know. Yes, the bio about Allen of the WBB team states she is majoring in neuroscience, great! HC can trumpet the academic and athletic performances of the students.

Amusing rant by this guy re one-sided officials hurting Army He didn’t mention the questionable roughing the passer call against us late Q4 Twice he lamented Army’s performance against a …middle of the road FCS defense…and the whining about penalties against Army and uncalled penalties for HC. Bottom line, the 2 TOs and blocked punt for a TD plus 5 sacks did us in even though HC still could have won the game! The only way to shut these guys up is to win when you should!

Occasionally, when a student athlete is highlighted for performance on goholycross.com, I will click on the student’s name on the roster. Often, updated biographical info is lacking including the course of study. I hope all sports teams get the bios of the student athletes updated. Merci.

Thank you for posting. Many times I would stop at his grave and offer a prayer when I was at the Cross and I've seen film clips of him doing Last Rites on the Franklin while smoke and flames were all around. Requiescant in pace.

Not a Lions fan, but they are a very entertaining team to watch and their coach has them believing in themselves. If they can stay healthy the rest of the way, they will be a dangerous team in the playoffs. I like their coach because he's tough, played LB in the NFL and still looks the part. He's one who will replace a player if he doesn't produce, need more of that!

Agree about the D, played stout except for a few hiccups. The key to me was the 5 man DL which enabled the LBs to pursue effectively. I was impressed by the LB freshman #6.
The O’s total arsenal is not utilized due to the heavy reliance on the 2 offensive stars.
