No word yet from caro---- must be busy writing up his commentary on Bill Carmody's coaching master strokes today. What a great win for the Crusaders!!!! Couldn't watch the game (see 13's posts about this atrocious TV contract), but sounded like a nice win against a horribly coached team. I wish I could get ahead of myself like others when a 13-14 team beats a 14-11 team, but we still have a loooong way to go. That crazy concept of playing defense seemed to work out today, huh? Interesting. Maybe we should be more focused on using Floyd to defend the paint rather than using Husek to chuck 3's. More reason for Caro to be happy. Northwestern Beat number 7 Wisconsin at Wisconsin. They also beat Wake Forest and Dayton and Ohio State this year. This could be the year.

People around the country were watching....heard from grads, friends, family from Jersey, Missouri, Texas and California who watched parts of the game...better than nothing obviously.
Curious what kind of #'s the CBS SN do on average for PL games.

If the noise does not come across on TV, how loud can it be ? The gym was a little over half filled. Filters on the announcers' mikes can damp down the noise pretty well. That is why there are separate mikes in NBA games and at some colleges just to pick up crowd noise.

Curious what kind of #'s the CBS SN do on average for PL games. I also got feedback rom former students around the country. They were impressed. One said the court paint job reminded him of one on the West Coast (but in orange with foul lanes and the state outline in natural stained wood). Any of you know what college that might be?

That is why there are separate mikes in NBA games and at some colleges just to pick up crowd noise. When a gym is packed, as the Hart Center was during most of the RW years, there was no doubt on TV about the level of noise, regardless of the filters on announcers' mikes. Not enough students= not enough noise, (forgive me, NAD and 92's sons)

Curious what kind of #'s the CBS SN do on average for PL games. CBSSN doesn't subscribe to Neilsen, so accurate #'s numbers aren't available, but going by the numbers for games that offer at least regional appeal on Neilsen reporting networks, it's safe to say the number is well under 50K.

Lots of caveats here but I thought the crowd was OK given the weather. Relative to recent years, thought student turnout was OK as well.
Also, given size of the crowd, I thought there was pretty good energy and noise today.
And though I am biased, the band has been great in general this year and today specifically. They've really picked up on NADs you you you so Dave is not a voice in the wilderness and have been entertaining in their cheering (and sometimes jeering) of opponents.

Doesn't say much for the coach you're wistful for when the "horribly coached team" beat him twice this season.

Was at the game....
1.) The crowd was into it, I don't care what anybody else says... 2.) My guy, whom I've supported all along, AT, had a great game! He was energized!!! 3.) Kempton is a "cry baby"! No doubt about it! He should have been T-eed up several times in the first half for his F - bombs!!! Heard it first hand from someone who was near the court that he used the F - bomb more than once when he did not get the call he thought he deserved! 4.) The turning point with the officials came at the end of the first half when they were questioned by the HC coaches to review the last few seconds of the half when Kempton pushed PB. Heard from a reliable source that it was not worthy of a technical but I think it got the attention of the refs and low and behold the next time Kempton popped off he got T'eed up and horse collared by Dr. Reed! 5.) JF had a great game today! Wish Togo was 40 years younger and could spend 6 months each year in the off season with him! He would be a force to be reckoned with in the future. 6.) NAD gave it his all today! At games end he could hardly speak! 7.) Beat LU 2 out of the last 3 times we've played them! 8.) My only complaint.... Students "get to the games and support your Team" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember one thing... On any given night, any team in the PL can beat any other team!
Let's close out the regular season as we need to with 3 of he next 4 game at home and hope the team is peaking at the right time, just like last year!

Good insights on reviewing the play at the end of the half. Good job by the HC coaches bringing it to the refs attention. Kempton clearly pushed PB and then told him to "shut the f*** up" as he was walking away. Who knows what happened but I'm glad the refs finally t'd him up. Surprised the announcers didn't saying anything either when it happened or at the start of the second half. Kempton needs to have better control of his emotions as a senior.

Hoops- Lusco was the hatchet man, a limited role. No comparison with Floyd. Ramsey was the definition of a sixth man. Why would you relegate Floyd to a sixth man role at this point in his career? He's showing much more than Husek. As for Kerr, I don't watch the NBA these days. I don't live by "the book," whether in bball or baseball. Of course, a coach is always safe in following the book. I like risk takers.
Sader- The comparison of Husek is to Floyd, not Kempton. Floyd is showing tremendous POTENTIAL. You have to give him full reign to see him blossom. We already know the full extent of Husek's contributions.

I think you mean "free rein" , as in freedom or latitude, not "full reign" as in being made a monarch......

Malachi Alexander passed Tim Clifford today to become 22nd highest carer scorer for HC with 1,250 points. Billy Doran is next in sight with 1,268.
RC now has 967 career points......

I thought Hart sounded quite loud on TV. Very noticeable. Also heard Mamie Riley acapello.

Right on, Bob - the band has really been All In for the last 2 years; they are consistent with their support from start to finish. If we could just get another 200-300 students with the same energy we'd have something. Maybe the decibel level wasn't quite there yesterday, but there was never any let up (sort of mirrored the team's effort I thought).

Karl after his 8-8 yesterday moves into 8th place on career ft %, admittedly early in his career, at .802, behind Jim McCaffrey

Is he still writing at all ? did he have an opinion on baby Timmy ? Last I knew, he read the board on occasion but did not post. I'm not sure if he registered on the new board. Daughter Annie, who used to write articles about every game, went to college in Chicago with plans of majoring in journalism. I know that changed, but I forget what she is doing now. I do know she stayed in Chicago after graduation. She got married a couple of years ago and is doing great
