AWFUL HORRIBLE PAINFUL PUTRID DISGUSTING FRUSTRATING OFFENSE.....AGAIN! It's wasting our great Defense. It's not that we're bad shooters. It's that the offense scheme is not yielding good shots. Players won't cut when there is a good path open. Players won't pass to the cutter when a good cut is made. Often the player with the ball will not even look for a cutter. Players on the perimeter will not dump it into a player who has established good postup position. Therefore lots of standing around or incessant weaving that produces nothing. We have 643 years of coaching experience on the bench. What the hell are they doing when it comes to Offense?? I honestly can't believe how utterly dysfunctional our Offense is.

In the last 7 days we have lost to a team that entered the game 8-17 vs D1 teams, and another who entered the game 5-17 vs D1 teams, yet some still think it's a "talent issue." These teams were in 9th & 10th in this awful PL.
There is no way in hell that we have less "talent" that these teams we're losing too.

Floyd went back to being mediocre...if you can call no points an no rebounds mediocre. Didn't even block a shot and committed 4 fouls, the last one a very stupid illegal screen. That's why he doesn't start.

rgs- Happens way too often to be random. They're 21 yr olds in their physical prime in fabulous shape being compensated quarter million. They're actually on the floor 30-35 mins max. I don't want to hear "tired" etc. If we were a fly on the wall, do you think we'd ever hear CBC say "There are students here at HC who studied their asses off to get in here and they're not on scholarship. If you don't do exactly what I tell you to do you're gonna get splinters in your ass from the bench time I'm gonna give you." I've never coached college scholarship athletes, so maybe I'm nuts.

Shooting was beyond abysmal yet we still had a chance to win as defense was working. The no offensive boards strategy can be maddening, especially when you see Army getting so many O-boards, sometimes with one player versus three Crusaders.......

Quoting myself. People forget that this team just isn't very talented. Objectively look at the roster, folks. We have no junior class and one senior that has been consistently solid all season. That is difficult to overcome.

That is difficult to overcome. You say that as if consistency is directly connected with talent. Perhaps there are other factors that play into consistency?

To "quote" one of my favorite films: "Forget it Jake, it's the Patriot League."

That is difficult to overcome. who is the one senior who has been consistently solid?!? ma? he's tailed off recently and hasn't had a big game in a while. it's nice to see champion healthy and playing well again (what a warrior), but both of them need to play well for us consistently to succeed. it's rarely happened this year, although much of that was due to champion's injury. it's clear we can't expect much from thompson and husek, so these two need to step up the rest of the way out to close out the careers of this senior class.

Nobody....and I mean (almost) nobody cares about how this game played out tonight.....we are playing D1 college basketball in a vacuum.

I disagree with the "playing" part, as we have played ourselves right into this awful level through the 3 regimes after RW left. There is no way that we can jump to the A10 with the current trajectory of the program. I completely agree with the "losing" part. With all the losing, many have just become numb to how horrifically bad and unacceptable these losses to teams at the bottom of this league are. There is just no excuse for us not being right behind Bucknell this year, battling it out for a title.

Ok I will bite. What league should Holy Cross be in? As a catholic and living in New England I've always kept tabs on Holy Cross as I love to cheer for the true student-athletes compared to those folks taking "classes"in the Power Conferences. This board is like Charles Dickens novel. You win it's the best of times. You lose it's the worst of times and oh how back in the late 70s you could have been in the BE or could be ND or BC. You have tremendous young men and women representing you in all sports. Be proud of that. Tonight you loss to a team of some of the finest our country has to offer. Men that have decided to spend their life defending us and our way of life! No shame in losing to Army! Remember these are still kids not pros. Life doesn't change whether you win or lose. You could catch lighting in a bottle like last year in March and enjoy the ride. Enjoy your young scholars!

Based on past history, geographic ties, institutional history etc etc....Holy Cross is the only D1 school in Central Massachusetts...are you telling me HC wouldn't be a good fit in either league?

The mood of the athletic brass after the game tonite was such (and rightfully so) that I have seen only once before: in MB's final season in a loss to Laf (I believe). Carm had better get a bruiser on the blocks with the last scholly. Either that or next yrs frosh better shoot like Steph Curry.

87 - tonite's problems had nothing to do what conference HC plays in whatsoever. And rather than beating a dead horse among us like a busted 45 every nite, how about conveying your feelings to those who can do something about it.

Do you really think the TPTB care what I think? I've been saying the same thing for 30+ years....joining the PL was a disaster but what do I know?

87, if TPTB (who might be able to do something about the situation) don't care what you think and won't listen to you and as you said "what do I know," why do you repeat the same things here to those of us who cannot do anything about the situation?
It's not like you are venting to sympathetic ears here.
Pretty much to to a person we are tired of hearing the same broken record from you. Please stop!

Do you really think the TPTB care what I think? I've been saying the same thing for 30+ years....joining the PL was a disaster but what do I know? ADNP said early on that other conferences aren't interested in HC when it isn't dominant in its own conference; otherwise, HC offers them nada, nothing, zero. Its a small school with a small alumni base, and a small media market. HC has less than half the enrollment of Elon, currently the CAA school with the lowest enrollment. There are two schools in the A-10 with smaller enrollments, Davidson and St. Bonaventure. Neither plays scollie football or ice hockey. Holy Cross isn't entitled to a bigger / better conference because of what it did 20, 30, even 50 years ago. Yet, that's your whole schtick.
