OK! HC now has the one PL campionship a year thing down. Hoops last year and baseball this year. Next year may be time to start getting multiple championships in on year! How about a repreat in baseball and one more in hoops, football or hockey? Then let's get the women on board as well.

For all those who questioned scheduling the CCSU game, the wisdom of the CA trip, our sac hunts, every possible move by the coaching staff, and the HC baseball program itself - hope you enjoyed this one.
Congrats to Coach D and the team!

Congrats to Coach D and the team! People are allowed to question individual decisions made by coaches and administrators and still support them and root for them to win and enjoy it when they do. That's sort of what sports fans do. .

Yep but the idiot nitpicking of this program by people who coached two years of t-ball got old long ago. Coach D knows way more about the game of baseball, and his team, than any of us.

It was great to win the PLC but that was one amazing comeback by Bucknell. Started by a pinchhitter, the PA announcer only knew his number "#8 pinchhitting", not his name. Then their coach lets the guy walk in 3 runs, that was painful to watch

He can take HC to the NCAA tournament ten years in a row and win it twice and I, for one, will still question his overuse of the sacrifice bunt.

Couple of things...
After watching Friday, our starter yesterday just finished a 1-2-3 7th, and seemed in pretty good command. I wanted him pitching the 8th
Don't understand the men on first and third little league play. Our best hitter at the late, counting on BU to make a bad play (they didn't) instead of our best hitter getting the run in. Out at the plate, rally busted

FWIW, don't disagree with Lou but the coach might have been thinking thusly....King was our 7 inning starter. Did not pitch 9 all year, iirc. Capen was all-league reliever. Game 1 is HUGE.
On the sac bunt issue I'm with those who think we bunt too much and sometimes with our good hitter at the plate. I noticed and the announcers noticed too how many two-out rbi hits we got in the two games. Maybe we don't get those hits if we gave up an out bunting.
We were the Cardiac Kids and the Comeback Kids all rolled into one in the PL games all year.

How about over 20 years of playing experience (including 4 years at Holy Cross) as well as over 5 years of coaching experience? Am I qualified to question a few coaching decisions while still stating that Coach D is a fantastic coach/recruiter and one of (if not the) best coache(s) at HC?

Good point, 94. No way we would have gotten off to that hot start this year without that vital mid-February tune-up before we hit the road.

Then their coach lets the guy walk in 3 runs, that was painful to watch True, but it is also the mark of a great team to withstand a comeback like that and go on to win! I wish the Seattle Mariners knew how to do that!

Good point, 94. No way we would have gotten off to that hot start this year without that vital mid-February tune-up before we hit the road. Agreed. Similarly no chance that the head coach of the program scheduled it for a very good reason knowing that there would be a benefit to his program. He was probably just super bored one day last fall, and with nothing better to do, scheduled a game on a whim which had no earthly purpose for making his team better.

He scheduled it to get his team some game action. I get it. Not a big deal. I just didn't like the idea of playing a game in New Britain, CT in mid-February. Turns out we got lucky and the weather that day was unseasonably warm and we found a field on which we could play nearby. Awesome. My concern was that we would be tempted to play in less ideal conditions than the ones we got given that the game was on the schedule. We didn't have to make any such call because the weather was nice. The game neither helped nor hurt us in the pursuit of our ultimate goal. The fact that, months later, you continue to harp on the fact that some of us had a discussion about whether this was a good idea shows just how ridiculously over-sensitive you are to any suggestion that DiCenzo is not perfect. He's not, but he has done a good job overall and is leading us to the NCAA tourney for the first time since 1978, which is great.
