Kalif still listed as starting PR and KR for the Jets this week. Let's hope he finally breaks one. He is not listed as first, second or third at either WR position so I think he has almost no chance of playing Offense barring injuries.

Let's first hope that he holds on to all the kicks

Is the game on TV? Can't find any listing in RI, though that should not be surprising.

Doesn't he play for the Jets now? Yes, he does. Poor attempt at humor.

Would be nice if Red Zone would show a 40-yard return!

Kalif just muffed a fair catch and the Raiders recovered on the 4-yard-line. Not good. To be fair, he was looking right into the sun but can't do that. Raiders scored three plays later.

That play was a killer after he looked so good earlier.

I saw his kickoff return of around 40 yards, looked very good. I missed the fumbled punt, was outside and came in right after the episode. Announcers were talking about how he came to the Jets and camera focused on him on the sideline after the muff.

Last week's two drops were undoubtedly a concern last week, this drop just now may have some consequences.

Tough to hear, but not unexpected. I do hope he gets a chance this year with another team.

Unfortunately if you get by the hapless J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets, there's not many other options barring injuries.

As only the Daily News can put it:
"Jets release struggling receiver and return man Kalif Raymond
Kalif Raymond does not have the right muff.
Two days after an embarrassing 45-20 loss to the Raiders, the Jets waived Raymond following his costly muffed punt late in that first half that ultimately turned a four-point game into a two-score affair, the team announced on Tuesday.
It was Raymond’s third muffed punt in just two games for the Jets. In Week 1, Raymond muffed two punts in a season-opening loss to the Bills, with the Jets recovering both."
Article went on to note he has shown some good flashes but an NFL punt returner must be able to catch punts.

NFL teams have zero tolerance for return men who cannot catch the ball.

one of the reasons he almost made the broncos roster again was that he did not have these problems. seems they cropped up once he arrived in ny there are so many injuries in an nfl season, gotta hope he gets another chance

one of the reasons he almost made the broncos roster again was that he did not have these problems. seems they cropped up once he arrived in ny there are so many injuries in an nfl season, gotta hope he gets another chance Last season, there was one legit fumble where he got stripped at the end of a long return. He was also charged with a fumble in a box score that was absolutely not a fumble - he jumped on a ball in a crowd of Chiefs on the 5-yard line as a punt rolled toward the goal line. Risky? Yes. Fumble? No. Basically, he was in the league because he showed the ability to break long returns. Hopefully, someone gives him a practice squad spot to show that he can overcome this issue and take advantage of his skills. I know some of the Broncos beat writers/bloggers who watched him in practice every day are hoping they sign him to their practice squad.

Raymond brought back on NYJ practice squad per Brian Costello of the NYP.

Raymond brought back on NYJ practice squad per Brian Costello of the NYP. Seems like not the best situation for Kalif but it's a check and an opportunity to continue to practice at a quasi-NFL level. Would be almost impossible for the Jets to put him back on the 53 without a riot among their few remaining fans. I guess when they're 0-12, no one will care and maybe he gets another shot. There are definitely much worse jobs two years out of college. The kids and I will keep pulling for him and hoping he gets another shot.
