If so, I wonder where he lands. Look at Calipari. Two final fours vacated and when he left Memphis in disgrace, Kentucky was waiting with an open door. It seems there's always a school out there willing to sell their soul to a cheating coach in hopes of garnering a bigger share of the NCAA spotlight These latest allegations aren't simply about recruiting violations - they're about criminal behavior. Don't know how marketable a high-profile felon would be.

Tricky Ricky is a proven big winner at multiple colleges. Some school will "give him a second chance"--perhaps someone well down the athletics ladder with supporters itching to climb up a few rungs.

Larry Eustachy is an alcoholic who was fraternizing with sorority girls when he coached at Iowa State. He resigned from Iowa State amidst this controversy, and was hired at Southern Miss less than a year later.

If Pitino is indicted, he is toast. to avoid any prison or long sentences, these assistants who have been arrested and the one at Louisville who probably will be, will start singing like canaries, and head coaches will be in the mud.

Pitino dirt ball through and through. Unfortunately took a long time to get what he deserves. Still haven't forgiven him for shunning Red Auerbach when he took over C's.

Being a stiff, lying on a resume, other personal issues etc are one thing. Having the Feds up you ass is another.
Cannot see any other school willing to take a shot with Pitino. Media scrutiny would not be worth the price, and you just know the Feds would tail him anywhere he went. No school wants this "attention".

I think Pitino is done at the college level. But he'll probably be able to get an NBA gig down the road if he wants one. I'll predict his next gig is with the Brooklyn Nets.
Next topic: could RW be a candidate for the interim gig at the Ville? How many other viable candidates are available at this point in the calendar?

Spilled milk at this point. We've beaten all the factors into the ground over the past decade. We're finally back on solid footing and moving forward.

Tough to call. Guys that are on tape breaking the law are $crewed. The Louisville assistant might roll and say Pitino authorized everything, but unless that authorization was in writing or he's on tape somewhere, he can claim ignorance. My guess is the most the feds will have on any head coach is uncorroborated accomplice testimony which won't even result in an indictment. Without criminal indictments, all of these head coaches could come out of this as someone who simply failed to keep close enough watch on their assistants. On the other hand, maybe I just have more confidence in the sleaziness of big time college athletics than some of my fellow posters

Pearl is also Toast. Miller and Larranaga may get through it.

But in the specific case of Pitino, he's already played the "I didn't know what my assistants were doing" to get out of the last scandal. And then there's the sex scandal, which he couldn't pin on an assistant (try as he might). The body of work is pretty damning.

doesn't surprise me that 1.) pitino is up to his ears in more corruption (good bye and good riddance, freaking scumbag!) and 2.) adidas is involved in this blatant corruption.
in the sordid world of athlete shoe sponsorships, adidas has been the worst of the worst from my vantage point as of late. nike has the track record and unparalleled brand awareness, and under armour has the innovative product and underdog philosophy, and i had heard adidas was playing by a different set of rules to come back from the dead. they deserve to head back to the grave after this. #@*&$~! shoes and gear anyway, imo! the question is whether nike and ua's courting of high school athletes will come under the microscope. it probably should.

A quick anecdote. I just went to Jeff County Clerk's office to get my cars registered. After handing over my $419 I thanked the clerk and said "gee, a tough day for our local basketball team". She replied "A man came in and threw his Louisville Cardinals license plate on the desk and said 'I'll take anything you have, I just want to get this off my car'."........Rick may want to get out of town....
