Actually, there is a buzz. Was your comment sarcasm? There is a lot of discussion about the new players and guesses about who will play and in what system. Just because it is not always on Crossports, that does not mean it does not exist.

Does WCHC still do games? Sad if they don't... it was such a great experience.

Doesn't look like a stream is being offered. Maybe they're testing it out, just like they're doing a trial run with the new ticket takers and bag checkers??? So we play a closed door scrimmage against a D2 team, don't stream our only "open" exhibition against Assumption, and don't provide any media or previews on GoHC.com -- the buzz leading up the this season is off the charts! interesting to see if it translates to fannies...

Hopefully it will and those HC fans who are there like what they see.

Sorry, I was being very sarcastic. Perhaps understandably so given that it will likely be the 4th consecutive losing season (haven't had a winning season since 20 Wins Baby in 2013-14), but there just appears to be no juice to the program right now.

I would disagree. I feel there is a lot of "quiet expectation" on the part of the players who are itching to get started and are working hard to build this team up. That is the group you want to believe is "juiced" to get started. If they and the coaches do their jobs and produce an exciting team, the fans (and fannies) will follow.

I am fifty fifty for going to game. Why not stream? The game is a freebie, no?

If we're being honest with ourselves, there hasn't been a ton of "juice" in the program since 2008.
I am very excited for the season to get underway, but long gone are the days where we were striving for 25 wins and discussing not whether we would make the NCAA Tournament, but how high of a seed we would receive. I hope to get back there, but it's hard for the casual fan to get excited for a team that will likely be + or - .500 by a couple of games. Just the reality.

The’re people going to Belfast😱. People sneaking in to see practices. People wanting to go and some just to watch a stream. The juice starts at the top. ADNP stream the game for crying out loud.

several Worcester friends who were season tix holders until RW's departure showed up for 2 games during CBC's first OOC year... they didn't like the PO especially since it wasn't winning, but they didn't like RW's either; I doubt they will show for Assumption... they didn't in the past despite 2 having played for Assumption...we'll see

No pressure, but . . . The development of this freshman class will define Carmody's mark on the program. I think we'll lose 20 games this year, but be markedly better next. How much better - and what happens in the two seasons after - are the critical questions. With no 2018 class and increasing concern about the current sophs, I hope these six kids, as a group, turn out to be really good.

We will know by January the direction this program is going under Carmody. His tenure at HC hinges on this freshmen class.

I think we'll have part of the story by January but we should remember that some players who turn out to be outstanding (e.g. Malcom Miller) did not show a lot as freshmen. Having said that, I do think we'll see by January that at least 3 or 4 of these guys are going to be really good.

As one of those going to Belfast, I am excited to see what HC will look like this year. I hope it is streamed for me and for those who cannot get to Worcester on a weeknight. I, for one, am looking forward to the quality of play and the development of the players and team more than the won/loss record.

I'm very excited about the season, yet with guarded (at best) expectations, if that makes sense.

In a sense, Coach Carm is rolling the dice a bit in using up all 6 schollies with this class; he's certainly living the George Allen "The Future is Now" credo he brought up last week. Fair or unfair, the late schollie to Grandy is really key imho. Not that we'll ever know, but - if there is a high level recruit in the 2018, that we could have snagged, but had no schollie available.......and Grandy becomes no more than a role player.......and this class doesn't win a PLC......then to me it will be fair to second guess the coach. On the other hand, so far the reports on Grandy are very encouraging.......

I have to think that Bill Carmody is a pretty good judge of talent and therefore, as Dave suggests, he would not have offered a scholarship to Grandy if he did not think he would be a major contributor

Looking forward to the game mostly to get a look at the freshmen. I am hoping that there are a few difference makers in this group mostly because if this class doesn't work out we are in big trouble. In my opinion we will be playing the next two years with basically the junior and freshmen class. I think our returning players are as bad or worse than anyone in the league so the freshmen are going to have to play and produce immediately. I don't get the point of playing both preseason games against D2 teams as it seems to me that the freshmen would have benefitted by seeing some D1 talent prior to opening night.

Ky as of now Carmody is 1 for 5 on his recruits so his talent evaluation is in question. Hopefully this class will alleviate any concerns in this area.
