I would strongly suspect that to endow one men's lacrosse scholarship at Bucknell you would also need to endow 1 womens scholarship at the same time. No, that's not the issue. For years the Administration has not allowed most athletic scholarships to be endowed. It has nothing to do with Title IX. If I offered them $10 million tomorrow to endow 4 men's lax scholarships and 4 women's, it would be turned down. Only contributions to endow general need-based aid, or certain merit scholarships are allowed. That is why Bucknell has no athletic scholarships for mens lax, soccer, track, or baseball etc. it is not due to Title IX and us not due to having no prospective donors. Isn't your wrestling program endowed? Odd they would allow that and not the other.

Wrestling is very different than other sports. It was brought back by Bill Graham, who has donated over $50 million to Bucknell in recent years, maybe a lot more. He also started varsity women's rowing, built the women's lax/field hockey facility, and built the University Health Center plus a state-of-the-art wrestling center. He may have enough clout to get wrestling scholarships. The only other alum who might have that clout is Ken Langone.

This may sound weird but there would be leverage in the HC baseball program if someone endowed assistant coaching positions. Coach D works very hard on recruiting but Jeff Kane played an important role in getting a lot of the seniors on last year's team into the program. Where's Kane now? At Navy, making quite a bit more $$ than he was at HC from what I understand. Baseball has had quite a bit of assistant turnover in the last few years and low salaries are the main cause. The current freshman class is important because its a large group and it needs to eventually replace a number of key players. We hope for the best but my concern is that the recruiting skill in the program is not what it was when assistants Kane and Rakowski were on board.
