Some random thoughts:
Frosh are VERY poised. Terrific hoop IQ for 18 yr olds. Given the amount of time they got- Carm obviously feels the same. Still early for sure, but this class looks thankfully strong.
Was as strong overall team performance I've seen in years. Terrific coaching as others have noted.
PG position is in very good hands.
Crowd was solid for a rainy week nite.
Student section was full, and they were very into it which was good to see. The 2 signs they had were funny: "Harvard Schmarvard" and "Harvard drinks O'Douls"
Officiating was typical PL suspect. Would have been a damn shame if they cost HC the game.
A number of players families were there. Saw AB's dad up from Latrobe. Malachi also in the crowd.
The future is VERY bright!

By the way, did JF have all these moves to the basket and around the basket last year? Jehyve has definitely come a long way. Kudos to the coaching staff.

Turnovers big part of win Our defenses in the past 3 years have had their weaknesses, but they have consistently caused turnovers After two games Holy Cross ranks #3 in the country in turning over opponents (KenPom measure---think it is based on possessions, not on turnovers per game)

Nice win! Couldn’t watch the 2nd half, but glad we could hold on.
Need to ride out Floyd for the next two years to take advantage of having a presence inside.
There is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to compete with Bucknell this year.
Some thought that we couldn’t win 7 OOC games against this schedule? Oh my!

Some more KenPom tidbits: HC started the season at #268, moved up to #255 after SHU game and we are now at #251.
KenPom now projects a 13-15 record for the season (I think he had us at 10 wins pre-season)
His "o-rating" has three players above 100 for this infant season to date
117.8= Matt Faw
111.7= Pat Benzan
111.6= Austin Butler

We are seeing the product of rock solid and steady point guard play. The other four guys on the floor get better when Caleb is out there. He plays like a junior. Very encouraging watching this freshmen class.
Guess Carm still knows how to coach.

Also, we beat a good team with our best player having an off night.
We may have something this season.

Outstanding and enjoyable game. The kind of game we used to lose. The freshmen just seem so confident and poised beyond their years. PB hitting his FTs at the end reminded me of TT. Not always the best FT shooter but great when the game was on the line.
So, 2-0. Let's see how my predictions have gone so far:
OK. batting .500 but I am pleased with the last wrong pick. Hope I am wrong about URI too.

What else can I add to what dado, ACTP and others have already said and thoroughly agree with? Well, I'll try... 1.) Steals: H - 2; HC - 12 2.) Points in the paint: H - 24; HC 32 3.) Bench points: H 19; HC 25 4.) The best regular season atmosphere in a long time! 5.) HC won despite playing against 5 Johnnies and 3 Zebras! ! By the way, how many dressed players are you allowed on the bench??? Think Harvard had 18 players in all! ! Nice to see Malachi Alexander, RJ Evans parents, Mike Vincens, Bill Doran (I'm sure there were others) at the game! When Reggie Greenwood (Head of the BB Officials for the Patriot and Ivy Leagues) was asked what he thought of the game, he responded: "great game"! When asked how the officials did, he said "they got every call right"! What else would you expect him to say? 2 and 0 and on to URI! !

Great win...only able to see the first 12 minutes (had indoor tennis)....love the swaggah of the frosh!
Rebounding looks like it might be an issue going forward....but we're playing with house $$$ this year in general.

Great win and exciting atmosphere tonight ! JF had terrific aggressiveness and quickness, which will present problems for our future league opponents. If you told me that KC would have 2 points in the game, I would have said we would have lost by 20 - 25 points. The team play by all overcame KC's off night offensively and the frosh were up to the task this evening. This freshmen class looks very poised and play with a lot of confidence......it will be an entertaining year to watch their growth. PB just gets it in Carmody's system and makes the correct decisions - a true star of the game tonight ! Officiating - truly disappointing at this level, Reggie Greenwood must have been at another game.

Very impressive win last night. Suffocating defense denied Harvard open looks for most of the night, and kept them off balance Best the defense has looked since the tourney run two years ago. Better still, the boys were making their shots on offense. They played without fear and stood right up to Harvard’s multi star players. I think any doubts they had went away with JF’s ‘in your face’ slam early in the game. They kept their poise throughout the game and especially during Harvard’s run at the end. One game does not a season make, and I’m sure there will be some big bumps coming down the road. But I dare say if they play this well the rest of the way, they will win a lot of games!
