Did I read that box score correctly? Kostecka with only 5 points? Lions, and tigers, and bears....oh my! Cheers. How’s Le Seann’s numbers look in that box score? Easy to cherry pick from limited samples.

MP had shoulder done too. So I was expecting more surgery on old injuries. Will he be back?

Easy to cherry pick from limited samples. the difference is that nobody has posted - ad nauseum - about how great of a hire bill carmody was because of clayton lesann. most of us are disappointed in lesann's lack of production. conversely, we have heard - ad nauseum - how big of a mistake it was to fire milan brown any time kostecka has a big game. i will say this though, kostecka does get the award for pseudo-tough guy of the game last night when he got in grandison's face after an unintentional collision on the court resulting from two guys simply going for the basketball. man, would i have been shaking in my boots back in the day if all 180 lbs of that stick figure wanted to start something! seriously, i applaud grandison's calm restraint as the guy who responds to the provocation is the one who usually gets whistled up. i have a feeling our boy butler might have reacted a little differently

Next play, Kostecka was whistled for a touch foul guarding Grandy. Refs had enough it appeared

That may be a bit of an exaggeration regarding Milan, and I would guess that the small amount of talk about Milan exists because of how easily it gets under some people's skin and others potentially getting some laughs out of that. The vast, vast, vast majority of people who watched Milan's teams would agree that a new direction was necessary. The primary criticism (by far) has been regarding the hire to replace Milan, which has not been good so far, both on the court and in recruiting.

The primary criticism (by far) has been regarding the hire to replace Milan, which has not been good so far, both on the court and in recruiting. Just for clarification, is the premise that Kostecka backed out of his verbal commitment not so much from Coach Brown getting fired and more so that the replacement was Coach Carmody - so that if someone other than Coach Carmody had replaced Coach Brown that Kostecka, and maybe Hahn and Proctor, would have stayed with HC? Mostly when I''ve seen posts on these guys, it was implied that they changed their minds because Coach Brown was fired - not much to do with the replacement. I can see a kid recruited to play in an up tempo/always pressing game being scared off by a Princeton Offense reputation. I just don't recall that being posted on the board. Also, I realize it is possible that BBC's interpretation of Kostecka's motives is not the same as other posters' interpretation

Loyola played some man ,and HC had a big lead against Lehigh's early man . Think we play better against a man , so maybe some hope when we play the Bison down the road.

The 3 photo sequence of Grandy’s shot clock beater inbounds play is terrific I wish that was on the game replay. All that shows is the players running back upcourt after the basket. Is there any video of the actual play?

Interesting numbers (IMHO):
HC used 9 players (only 1 played for under 10 minutes - Niego had 9 min) and all of them scored. Also, all but one had or more rebounds (ironically that one was Faw who was not credited with a rebound in this game).

I was at the game and periodically texting with one of my sons who was watching the game on live video. He texted me to the effect "I see HC is now up by 1 so I guess they much have scored with 1 second on the shot clock because the video came back late from a commercial." He had previously texted about how impressed he was with Grandison. I told him how the play happened but so disappointed that perhaps the biggest/best play of the game was missed on video. Now this is where folks usually post that this is yet another example of the poor PL quality of product. I have experienced this kind of snafu on network events too but the difference is that they usually have captured it and able to show a replay.
Too bad as it was a great play that felt like a turning point in the game.

They are a very talented group that will pay great dividends for the program.

Miraculously, I have watched more than I could have imagined given how difficult most of the games are to get through, Still waiting to see something on the defense end, because when Floyd is gone and we don't have a rim protector in the middle of the paint, we are in for a world of hurt if we are putting 5 guys out there who can't keep people in front of them. (If you think the recruiting performance in Carmody's first 3 years (well, 2.5 to be fair, which I always am) is anywhere above 'average' (at best), I've got a bridge to sell you.)

Last night’s D was much improved, even when JF was on the bench for an extended time. many of us may be looking at next season. you are looking 2 years down the road.. That is long distance worrying.

Loyola is the 290th best team in the country and has the 299th ranked offense. The 4 teams we have beaten this year have an offensive ranking of 333 - 301 - 246 - 299, and have collectively won a total of 3 games against teams in the top 200 in the country. Not exactly overwhelming evidence that our 307th ranked defense is on the right track.
