I have no problem with the coach telling a player the truth. You are not likely to get any minutes next year or the year after. If you choose to transfer I will put in a good word for you as your character and academic standing. But if a kid transfers in and then you tell him there’s no scholarship for him that’s dirty pool. Do you have a problem with the normal case, i.e. that a coach tells the player that you aren't good enough to get any minutes and thus I am not renewing your scholarship. That is what happens if the player doesn't quickly take the hint to find a new school voluntarily.

Would be nice if she knew enough about the program to ask where the scholarships came from to accommodate the incoming recruits. If she asked and was not provided an answer should have mentioned that also.

Sadly, all of the things that a group of alumni predicted would happen when the college was about to become a charter member of the Patriot League, have come to pass. Those things fell on deaf ears.

There are those in power in Washington who are quite envious of HC being able for the most part to not let the story leak to the media.

Speaking of leaks and DC, wasn't there a group in government at the time of Watergate that was called the plumbers?

Too early to focus in a lot on the Michigan game but I have a few initial thoughts. One relates to Charles Mathews. From an HC perspective, we can hope he remains in the NBA draft and does not return to Michigan. If he does return, he will pose a challenge for us in rebounding and at the offensive and defensive ends of the court. The other is the point guard matchup. About 10 games into his sophomore year last year, Zavier Simpson took over the point guard position and Michigan’s performance improved considerably, particularly at the defensive end. Simpson locked up Cassius Winston of Michigan St. in the 2 Michigan-MSU games and was a primary factor in both wins.
In order to keep the game reasonably competitive, CG will need to handle the ball well and stay out of foul trouble. If other people have to play PG for more than 5-7 minutes, it could be a significant problem. Glad to read on another thread that CG is already working on his game in anticipation of a good sophomore year.
