"they haven't catapulted H.C. ...." Isn't the Luth a brand new facility? I don't think it has the power to affect past seasons

BTW - Columbia also has a 100 yard indoor practice facility. Granted, it is a 20 minute bus ride north and is a bubble. They installed two years ago. Seemed to help them. Holy Cross is keeping up and maybe surpassed other FCS programs with Luth, particularly the weight room. W&M, Villanova, Richmond, Lafayette all made major investments in football over last 3 years. If I were to rank facilities, including stadium, locker room, weight room and practice facilities in the PL, Holy Cross Lafayette Lehigh Colgate Georgetown Fordham Bucknell Facilities can be very important as a draw for recruits. But that's when they're generally part of a package of attractive complementary parts. Sometimes the facilities can help create a unified future vision despite missing the complementary pieces, i.e. recent performance. But, it's tricky ! With one .500 season in 6 years, H.C. should be careful to put the facilities in the broader context--be realistic. In and of themselves, they haven't catapulted H.C. into becoming peers of "W&M, Villanova, Richmond, Lafayette, " let alone other stretch opponents on the 2018 and 2019 schedules. Recruits are too sophisticated to be snowed by the new facilities of a "perennial loser. " Please...the football program had a coach who couldn't run a program with scholarships amongst other things and we've returned to a program with scholarships for a few years now....to peg HC as a "perennial loser" is a bit of a stretch. I'm as big as a pessimist as there as is...but a Holy Cross football program with scholarships again, a coach who actually knows what he is doing and the facilities we now have...should put a little fear into the rest of the PL programs.

" You make a good point in that an 18-year prospect who has actually heard of Holy Cross might think of us as a pretty poor football program within a very weak conference. And with very good reason. Nobody can argue that. Of course the Luth itself cannot change that reality. In the very same way that full schollies have not changed that reality. If the coach can bring in better recruits and we eventually become a consistently winning program (like UNH, for example) than the new HC formula of great coach, great facilities, great school, great football program will become self-sustaining.

Enough with the four leaf clovers on St Patrick's Day. A shamrock has three leaves.

Spent an hour or so one day combing Google Images of every derivative of "Fitton Field." Was looking to find the photo that was/is in the stairwell of the field house - I think that was of the last BC game.
Can't be....the old wood visitor side bleachers plus the old outdoor wood track date this pic to sometime pre-1978-79. Last home BC game was 1986 I think.
I know that it isn't the same photo, this was the best substitute I could find . The "BC Game" aerial in the FH hasn't made its way to internet search engines yet it seems.

I've talked to some of the local coaches who he mentioned attending practice. They were blown away by the energy. I saw similar while taking in a Chesney practice at assumption last fall. Hopefully they bring their teams to Fitton in the fall.
I'm gong to try and attend a practice soon.

Update from Coach Chesney. New staff much more inclined to give updates. Very refreshing and exciting. Chesney’s just about the only good thing happening on The Hill right now.

Hey, with losing records for every D1 team this year, at least we can't lose in spring practices and are guaranteed a W in the spring game.

What is the over/under on how often we will hear about all HC D-1 teams having losing records (to drop Women's transitional hockey out of the stats). I would say the start is about 24 from one poster. I'll go with the over. Even more if a second poster starts saying this over and over as well.

You are just trying to distract us from the key issue right now: Chesney must go and take Pine with him!!!!!!
