Good luck to Tom Gilmore at Wake.
I didn’t know that Anna Maria had a football team. Did I read correctly that AM has 90 freshmen joining the team?

WF hired Gilmore in April.

Gilmore will probably be looking at some film of HC because BC plays at Wake on Thursday the 13th in a nationally televised espn game.

Wake football page shows Gilmore as 1 of 2 'Defensive Analyst' positions. While apparently hired in April his name was only added about 2 weeks ago. Oddly, there's a brief bio on the other fellow but none as yet for Gilmore.
AIR, these positions were once known as scouts. Unless now not permitted, I'd assume these fellows would travel to see/scout opponents games in addition to viewing/analyzing shared tapes from opponents.
Other than paid expenses, I can't think these duties offer much compensation and really amount to part-time positions during football season.

TG is doing fine and is relocating his family down there.
P.S. He still bleeds purple.

TG is doing fine and is relocating his family down there. P.S. He still bleeds purple. He and family will find very pleasant living in and around Winston-Salem at about 65% of the cost of Massachusetts.

I am sure it will take some getting used to the weather though.

Hard to adapt to the change from balmy Worcester.

His start date was probably 7/1, aligned with the fiscal year.

From the horse's mouth, TG has been down there since March. I have a feeling that at that level, they don't worry about fiscal years.

Wow. Looks like Wake is the leader in the clubhouse ticking every box in describing Gilmore's former employer ... ... the former head football coach at the College of Holy Cross University in Worcester, Mass.

Oh, yeah, the former head coach at "the College of Holy Cross University".
If they wanted to cover all the bases, they should have said "the College of the Holy Cross University Polytechnic Institute"!

It's astounding that another Division I school could botch this so badly.
Wouldn't you think that when the SID at Wake is putting together TG's bio, he/she would stumble across the correct name of TG's former school?

I'm with nht on this....can't it just be "Holy Cross?" The College of the Holy Cross just sounds affected/pompous imo.....

Probably the same way that Ohio State dictates that it be called "THE Ohio State." Does that sound pompous? I have no problem with the college expecting the courtesy of being referred to by its actual name. It is probably easier to simply refer to it as "Holy Cross" but that is sloppy (for a college sports publicity staff) as well as incorrect - even though those connected to the college or to FHCTG would know what was meant.

I know it's always been the official name of the institution, maybe it's me, but I just don't remember HC being referred to as often as TCotHC as it has in the last 25 years or so. Probably a branding decision...

Perhaps it is a reaction to increasingly frequent references we see to "Holy Cross University?" Actually, adding a graduate degree or two might be a good idea. Why not become Holy Cross University and keep red shirt players on for a one year grad school degree.

No boys and girls.
It's because 40 years ago we were known and just known at Holy Cross.
The disciples of myopia and humility then made us as visible as Colby.
