Ryan Daly picked up offers from Niagara and UMBC in the last couple days.

The NCAA should have suspended signings by any school during this brief period while our message board was not operating.

ESPN scouting report on Ryan Daly, fwiw . . .
Strengths: Daly is the son of a coach and it shows. He's not only skilled but very smart and as tough as can be. He's a very good three-point shooter who can make them in bunches but is also a very good passer. He's a top notch ball-mover who will make open shots, drive bad close-outs or quickly move the ball. He plays much bigger than his size, is an outstanding perimeter rebounder from the wing and also capable of switching onto bigger players defensively.
Weaknesses: He's limited athletically and a little slow a foot. There isn't any explosion to his game, he's not a creator offensively and he plays typically below the rim. Defensively, he often has to compensate for his lack of foot speed as well.
Bottom Line: He's not a prototypical division I athlete but he's as tough and competitive as they come, super smart and a very good three-point shooter, so he projects as a nice complimentary piece at the right level.

I wonder how he compares to Zach Hollywood just in terms of overall talent and potential. If they are close, I would prefer ZH for the reasons I've been harping about. If RD is clearly better, then I hope we get him.

It seems as if we have not offered Hollywood and have offered Daly, so the staff seems to have decided whom they prefer

How does it work? How much time is he given to make a decision?

How does it work? How much time is he given to make a decision? That depends upon our staff. how long we wait depends upon how much we want him and believe that we are still one of his finalists.

My AAU guy compares RD to MZ: RD much better shooter; MZ better athlete. I bet RD is leveraging our offer in hopes of getting Ivy deal. We should have told him to commit immediately. Rather have HN if he is going to play games and make us a safety school to Brown. Congrats to Matt Fava moving up to #1 recruiting slot. Hopefully CKD schooled him well.

While Harrison Niego comes highly recommended by IllinoisSader, haven't seen any indication Carmody is pursuing him - actual offer to Ryan Daly, home visit to Zach Hollywood suggest otherwise.

Daly's options are increasing. Reportedly picked up an offer tonight from Morgan State - also "hearing from" Maine, Marist, Mount St.Mary's, Drexel, Bucknell . . . twitter.com/AndrewKoob
