Anyone know the team’s travel plans? I hope they are staying somewhere in the DMV this weekend? They are.

Ctting behind the bench there were few hugs-coach was complaining, to whomever on the bench was listening, about the missed layups, missed rotations, stupid fouls and missed foul shots. Honestly it is a game we should have won by thirty-Loyola is not even a decent basketball team. Most of kostecka’s looks were uncontested or he was fouled, but give him credit he hit the open shots Spent time with Witts and Mulquin who are doing well so a great time in Baltimore, a win is a win, and a road win even bigger-many in the crowd were following Navy -Colgate When looking at the first five conference games you wonder if the results and play reflected conference play, a long Christmas break or a little of both I was trying to find dadominate to say hello, but never bumped into him
on to Annapolis for Sunday He must have seen you first......

This was also, by far, our highest "free throw rate" game of the year at 54.9. That's more than double our FTR for the season (25.0) and higher than the #1 team's full season mark.

The 28 free throws are great, but just for some context -- ten of these were attempted in the final 1:16 when Loyola began to foul to extend the game.

The last time it took us as few as 14 games to reach double digit wins was the 2002-03 season.

It seems so simple, just make the layup.....However the game is so much faster than practice and getting your head up is not as easy as it seems..Lots of catch phrases used by coaches point to this....chin up, rim up.....eyes to the rim.....see the hoop...and my favorite from the 60's, never up never in..... I remember FCRW telling player to slow down Wise counsel. I think a lot of the misses were bad rolls that would have gone in on another night. Randomness rather than incompetence but frustrating nevertheless. On the other hand, that 3 by CLS may have offset those misses - I felt like I had time to microwave some popcorn while watching that sucker finally fall through the net!

Loyola Chicago at HC, 2009.....HC at Columbia, 2011.....HC at AU, PL Tournament, 2014. Those are 3 games right off the top of my head where the guys in purple were not able to overcome bad play down the stretch. Bachman Turner Overdrive was NOT blaring in the locker room after those games. We won this one!
I would be more concerned if the sloppy play seemed to be the result of guys losing their composure. I don't think that was the case at all, just some really, really dumb (and lethargic) plays by pretty much everyone (even JF, on the Kostecka 3 point foul). Nothing that a few coach death stares and verbal dope slaps can't correct. Might put a damper on any sightseeing plans over the next couple of days though.

another game where we got more offensive rebounds,7-5 and outscored them on second chance points, 8-4. More importantly, finally put up solid numbers on the defensive glass, 21 of 26 available (81%) - very good, best of the season. Average team does 75% (HC is around 68% now).
Denying second-chance points to opponents (limiting TOs and taking care of the D-boards) is a more achievable end than hoping to increase our own second chances (e.g., crashing the O-boards and causing TOs).

Great game by Floyd and nice balanced scoring with four in double figures. Hopefully we will see many more games like this from Floyd as there is really no one in the league who can handle him in the paint. A little sloppy buy any win on the road is good as evidenced by Navy's upset of Colgate. RGS not sure why you're questioning Kostecka's judgment, if you read his explanation of situation with HC says after he committed coach got fired and that opportunity fell through. Too bad would have been a terrific player does everything pretty well and is more athletic than he looks. Thank you for directing that to me (instead of speaking about me as some posters do). My comment came from me simply as a fan of Holy Cross. I believe he is a good athlete who could have been very happy at HC, but that was not the case. I wonder if he would do things differently if he had the chance, knowing what he knows now. Part of the reason is also my fatigue at hearing him being brought up so often by HCBC critics. That is immature on my part, but such is nature.

Watched the game on the PL network... Yes, I know times have changed but...at one point tonight there was a still shot of maybe 20 - 25 fans behind the HC bench and by my count at least 15 - 20 were on their cell phones! ! I guess that it is this day and age but I go to games to watch the game and not be involved in social media! ! They were probably watching the PL network also. One view showed Austin's Mom and a big group with her

Would have had all starters in double figures if Faw made his second free throw. That doesn't happen much.
20-28, (22, 23 or 24 would be the target I'd say); ironically, on a night where Floyd was a better-than-average 4-6.

They made a lot of free throws when it mattered.

RGS not sure why you're questioning Kostecka's judgment, if you read his explanation of situation with HC says after he committed coach got fired and that opportunity fell through. Too bad would have been a terrific player does everything pretty well and is more athletic than he looks. He walked away from his commitment to HC. That's plenty of reason It was a horrible life decision to walk away from the vast opportunities HC offers to go to Loyola. Unlike RSG, I'm not questioning his judgement, I'm calling it horrible. I will hold this against Kostecka for life. And for the record, I say this as a totally objective HC alum and hoops fan

NP could have hired Brad Stevens and we'd be stuck reading the same miserable BS every nite Stevens is horrible. Prior head coach Red Auerbach won the championship every year, and this guy in year 6 hasn't even made the finals. As Celtics fans we should expect more in year 6

Not working on my phone, do they test these links before posting? The athletic department is falling apart right before our eyes without the leadership of Nate Pine.
