Unless Milan Brown recruited Nate when he was at HC, he would have no connection to him whatsoever. They did not compete as coach/player as Sestina started playing (only 4 games) in 15-16, same year as Carmody.

There's a precedent for this potential move. The Kentucky Wildcats have got some great play this year from Reid Travis who played undergrad at Stanford and now is using up eligibility at UK. Like Travis, Sestina may want to move up both athletically and academically [ Travis is now spelling cat k-a-t. 😁

They did not compete as coach/player as Sestina started playing (only 4 games) in 15-16, same year as Carmody. Sestina went from zero to 15 scholarship offers in about three weeks after a great couple of weeks of AAU. Committed to Bucknell right after that. One of his 15 offers was from HC. He attended the Bucknell camp in June and they followed him closely in July AAU's. I believe his first offer was from Bucknell. He was unknown prior to that, having played for a HS with a male population of 72 in a county of 5000 people. His AAU team, based in Pittsburgh, was a one-way drive of almost 3 hours, so his participation was limited.

Is Sestina’s commitment to Kentucky, who is coached by a known cheater, make Seatina a cheater by the transitive property?
Things to ponder at night.

Well, I’ll have a reason for one year to not want to see Kentucky lose every game.

Not to diminish Sestina’s talent, but Calipari must not be optimistic in signing the remaining undecided HS stars, especially the bigs

I say good for him. Watching that little halftime show of him, seems like a good, down to earth kid. Going from a small town to playing at Kentucky is an amazing journey.

There's a big article in today's print Courier-Journal "Kentucky's latest graduate transfer must fill big shoes". The article quotes his HS coach from Cameron County HS in PA :" I think his game is going to grow even more. We saw him grow, but I think when he gets to Kentucky, when he's playing with some of these guys and playing against these guys, It's just going to make his game get to another level." The article cites Sestina's shooting ability, developed when he was a freshman point guard in high school. The article also says tha, unlike Reid Travis a graduate transfer from Stanford who played a lot this season, Sestina already has experience in the NCAA tournament, mentioning Bucknell's games against Michigan State and West Virginia. There were no quotes from Sestina himself or from Coach Cal.

Sestina, may help, but he is not near the player Travis is.Hard to believe that the author of this ever saw Sestina play. Travis was a star in the Pac 12.

Time will tell but I think you're underestimating Sestina's talent. He was obviously held back playing behind Foulland and Thomas for 3 years but was very impressive when he got his chance this year. A big guy that can shoot the ball as well as he does is invaluable in today's game.

Looks like Nate is fitting in just fine = was the leading scorer in their Blue-White scrimmage Saturday with 22 points (8-12 fg, 4-8 3 pt, 2-2 ft)

That's debatable. Very different skill sets. But what is not debatable is that both players could have put up much better stats had they been used differently.

Pre-season Courier-Journal articles have been very positive on Sestina.

I am happy for the success of any PL players after graduation. I hope he has a successful career at Kentucky. Unless, of course, we play them in the NCAA tournament.

I cannot root for any team or player that is under a coach who has led two different schools to vacate Final Four berths due to cheating. And who has been voted by his peers as one of the two biggest cheaters in the profession.

I cannot root for any team or player that is under a two time Final Four vacancy coach. And who has been voted by his peers as one of the two biggest cheaters in the profession. Calipari is a winner who will not settle for #2. Look for him to do what it takes to get the undisputed top spot

Sestina having a big-time debut for the Wildcats at MSG tonight bs MSU. Really earning floor time with his box outs and shooting stroke. Dickie V cant stop talking about him.
