Boston U forward Tyler Scanlon just entered the transfer portal. Big loss for Boston if he leaves. “If he leaves “ ? do many who enter the portal return to their teams ?

Boston U forward Tyler Scanlon just entered the transfer portal. Big loss for Boston if he leaves. “If he leaves “ ? do many who enter the portal return to their teams ? Not many - but some definitely do return. There was no formal transfer portal in 2915, but in the spring of that year both John Azzinaro and DJ McLeay of Bucknell announced their intentions to transfer. However after Dave Paulsen left for GMU, both changed their mind and returned.

Would be very surprised, given the lateness of this announcement, if he went back. It's June. There's 800 guys in the portal. And most teams will be starting their summer programs in 2-3 weeks. Very little chance he put his name in without knowing where he was going.

As for knowing where he is going, under the rules he cannot have any contact with any coach at any other school until his name has been entered in the transfer portal. Of course that rule is violated in various ways and this could be another example.

Has he considered Holy Cross? I think the 5.0 rpg disqualifies him for a HC transfer.

Two words in that tweet - Graduate Transfer - disqualify him for an HC transfer. Not to mention the requirement to sit for 2 years for a transfer within the PL.

It is not just because HC doesn't have a graduate school but also because the PL does not allow graduate transfers.

said another way? a bachelor's degree is a disqualifier for PL players.

said another way? a bachelor's degree is a disqualifier for PL players. Only if you transfer in for one year. Boston U has had dozens of athletes going for a Master's degree in their final year of eligibility. Lehigh and American have had some as well. But all of them had graduated from the same school where they entered a masters program.

This is a little unfair. The team drills hard on getting correct position after every shot.

Scanlon is from Virginia, but even thought TN and VA are contiguous states he will be farther away from his hometown at Belmont than at BU. So, he's not moving to get closer to family.

Not thrilled to hear that. He signed a LOI for UConn, got released and went to PC, and is now off to BC. Sometimes a school isn't the right fit and you transfer, but I wonder when you make commitments to three different schools

Does anyone remember the name of a HC basketball player that transferred to the University of Vermont? The transfer occurred during the late 1970’s.

Some pretty good looking transfers still apparently on the board if you believe published reports. Sean Mobley from VCU does not appear to have a new home yet. Brandon Wade also still open as far as I can tell.
