One of the basketball gurus, Corey Evans, reports that 25% of the Rivals Top 150 for 2021 has already committed. I believe he said at this time last year, 12-13% of that group had committed.

Didn't Mountain play hoops and football at HC? Of course he did. It is far less common, but still allowed. Should that happen again with someone else (not saying it will), how does his scholarship count against hoop and football scholarship numbers? ...and yes, clearly too much rainy Saturday time on my hands. If a player is receiving football financial aid and participating in that sport, then normally he would count against the football limit - even if participating in another sport as well.

Bryce ,from Brentwood Long Island ,transferred and reclassified. He has multiple skills, is a high character kid and solid student. I saw him play as a freshman and soph.. VC is correct,,Bryce is 6’4, not 6’6” as the tweet says. HC has been aware of him for the past few years

Same posting about Albany City Rocks potential players this summer, assuming AAU even happens, says we have interest in Marlon Lestin, a 6’9” big from Montreal. According to Verbal Commits, he has offers from PC, UMass and East Carolina.

McFadden shows two offers on VC, although it's likely one is off the table. He had an offer two years ago from Stony Brook's previous coach. Then when that coach left for Ohio U, he received an Ohio U offer one year ago. No offers in the past year.

Item from the Times-Herald Record in April. Among other things, he made 90% of 111 free throws last year.
Chris Cain was often asked by referees to tuck in his basketball jersey during this season.
Pine Bush coach Steve Distefano would defend his player and point out reasoning for the official’s request.
Defenses tried everything to slow down or contain Pine Bush’s 6-foot-8 senior forward from grabbing his jersey or picking up Cain full court. Cain regularly faced double and triple teams in half-court sets.
The attention that Cain received makes the numbers that he produced ever more extraordinary his senior season.
Cain doubled his averages from a season ago in three individual categories with off-the-chart statistics. His 23.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, 5.7 blocks were among the best in school history. Add in 90 percent on 111 free-throw attempts.
And, perhaps, the most important stat – a 9-win increase for Section 9 Class AA finalist Pine Bush, which was 6-14 a season ago.
Cain’s impact on offense, defense and the win column earned him Pine Bush’s third Varsity 845 player of the year award in the last four seasons.
“In the beginning, I struggled with the double teams because I wasn’t really expecting it,” Cain said. “As the season went on, I learned that I could rely on my teammates and I could just push it back out and they could find me again. We found a way to make it work and it worked out for us.” Chris Cain file

Career highlights
2019-20: Varsity 845 player of year after scored 524 points (23.8), grabbed 239 rebounds (10.9) and had 125 blocks (5.7 blocks) in leading Pine Bush to the Section 9 Class AA championship game. Dropped a career-high 40 points in first career triple-double against Monticello. Notched 13 double-doubles in 22 games.
2018-19: In his first year as starter, Cain averaged 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks.
Cain trusted his teammates. His teammates trusted Cain. It was a partnership that produced many highlight-video plays. Distefano estimates that Cain had, “about 40 dunks” compared to one last season.
“That (40) might be a stretch but there was a good amount of them,” said Cain, who had five dunks in an Albertus Magnus tournament game.
Cain’s increased confidence and aggressiveness were clear on his rim attacks. He received passes into the paint for quick slams. Cain threw down alley oops. On one highlight, Cain blocked a shot in the paint, ran the floor and dunked a pass off the glass left-handed.
“Just about every game, he would ignite the whole crowd with dunks,” said Pine Bush senior Elijah Johnson. “Throwing passes to him was fun because he always threw it down.
“He was a great teammate and he worked hard. He put in a lot of effort every day in practice and in games trying to make our team better.”
There were times when Cain could dominate a game without scoring. When defending champion Kingston kept a second defender on Cain’s hip, he passed the ball out as Pine Bush jumped out to a 10-0 lead in a 26-point Section 9 Class AA semifinal win.
Defensively, Cain was the area’s top rim protector in Pine Bush’s 2-3 zone. He blocked 125 shots on the season including 41 in his last five games.
“That’s how the kid finished the year after everyone knowing what he was capable of doing,” Distefano said.
Cain’s triple-double of 40 points, 19 rebounds and 11 blocks against Monticello was one of the season’s best individual efforts. The performance provided Cain with a response during family discussions. Cain’s sister, Kate, a junior center at Nebraska, averaged a triple double her senior season at Pine Bush in 2016-17.
“My sister would always get a triple-double with blocks,” Cain said. “I would come close to it. I always wanted to get it at least once.”
Cain’s work ethic has never been questioned. During a four-game losing streak, Cain headed to East Coast Athletics in Goshen and worked on his shot, which extends to 18 feet, until midnight.
“Last year, I just lacked confidence. I was missing shots that I should have made,” Cain said. “This year, I was hitting all of my jumpers and a lot more seemed to be falling in. At Monroe-Woodbury, I shot 9-of-10 (from the floor) and each one was a jump shot. They were locking down the inside and it helped having a second option to go to.”
Cain is hoping more college options open with a post-graduate year. The A-student (96.5 class average, 1370 SAT) is leaning toward attending Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass. Cain, who turned 18 Friday, looks to build on his 205-pound frame and increase his Division I interest.
“It’s another year of strengthening,” Distefano said. “He’s got to work on his right hand. If he works on those things, he can get to the next level no doubt.”
