Need to clarify the women’s golf team receives NO scholarship money. They do not even get “merit aid” to make up for not having scholarships. what is the difference between "merit aid" and athletic scholarships. At most places, the two are the same. Merit aid usually refers to academic merit, which holy cross does not really reward for. Hard to get any money for doing well in HS whereas a lot of other schools give scholarships based on academic merit. W golf doesn’t get athletic scholarships, nor do they get academic merit aid/scholarships in order to make up for the lack of athletic scholarships. The only money they may get is financial aid if they qualify.

Thanks. The schools I know often refer to athletic scholarships a merit aid. Bucknell has a little bit of academic merit aid, but there are strict SAT/GPA standards to get an award and not much of it goes to athletes. Lafayette has a lot of academic merit awards.
