For all the negativity about the offense, Scott James and the defense won the game. Great job. not sure I agree with your math, it still took 21 points to win

Great job. not sure I agree with your math, it still took 21 points to win The defense gave up seven points, held Bucknell to fewer than 300 yards, forced two turnovers, and blocked a field goal. We won this game because of the defense.

not sure I agree with your math, it still took 21 points to win You can’t hold the Pick 6 against the D. And the only offensive TD followed a Bucknell blocked punt where the offense started their drive from HC’s 38. Unlike Murphy, DC James actually brought a strong coaching background with him to HC. We would be in serious trouble without him and that defense.

A win is a win but this offensive scheme is an embarrassment. Ray bans needs to bring in a legit OC with the ability to create a game plan, actually develop a QB that can make reads, and necessary make in game adjustments. Josh McDaniels couldn't make this offense any better. They are what they are. Very conservative for a reason. Defense will carry this team. And there is nothing wrong with that.

We may not have much at QB, but there is a plethora of weapons at the skill positions that a skilled OC would be able to utilize. Cozier, Ayeni, Forrest, Gilliam, big TE Mountain, potentially frosh Asante & Thomas should be more than enough for a PL offense to get going.

I am wasting my time and will see you guys in 2020 when hopefully the bar is elevated and adjustments are made. I am all set with this current level of football and the Murphy/Chesney combo.

bbc, I agree with your assessment. We knew from last season that QB would not be strong. Yes, even the announcecers said that CD telegraphs his passes by looking right at the receiver. However, it does seem to be a work in progress at QB and some improvement can be seen. Next thing you know, the offense may even score in the first quarter of a game.

I don’t care if we win. The bar we currently have is pathetic. These kids aren’t competing, they are just playing not to lose. Bucknell is a terrible football team OK, 4crusader3..... you are on record as to your feelings.
Got an idea.
If you promise to stop following the team and making your incessant redundant annoying negative comments, we promise to let you know when we win the PL again so you can jump back on board the bandwagon.
Deal?

There are some real dopes posting here. We're seeing a program being built from scratch. HC won a very important game on the road. I guarantee the locker room was pumped. Onward and upward.

Georgetown scores with 5:13 left in the game (the kick is wide). Will Cornell remain winless?

Deal. I am all set with Holy Cross. To be honest, I never connected with the school and in its current trajectory it's going absolutely nowhere. Probably be best to take a break (for everyone)

Brown lost to URI (28-31) and is now 1-2. Everything's falling into place for us to visit Brown and invalidate EJ Perry's choice of schools to transfer to. He's talented, but I'll take HC's defense.

HC O leading HC O, 21-14. HC D pitching a shutout. I only had a chance to listen to the game intermittently and got the impression the D had not allowed any points. Still, it is a strong defense and as one wag once said "Defense wins championships."

Wrong??? Would you rather lose but have an awesome offense? Some of the complaints on this board are ridiculous. We have won two games in spite of the offense, if we are being honest. Let’s throw out the Navy and Syracuse games. The offense has averaged 12.3 PPG. The defense has let up an average of 13.3 PPG. As Bring Back noted, there are some talented skill players on offense coming out of the backfield and in the slot. Let’s find some creative ways to get them the ball in space. Degenhardt is limited in his ability to stretch the field, but some more imaginative plays and formations on offense is something he should be able to handle. If the offense can even somewhat catch up to James’ defense, the league is ours.

Thanks, Breezy. Didn't see the first few minutes and kept hearing them say that and couldn't figure out how that could happen! Surprised someone didn't tell them they had it wrong...

CORRECTLet’s throw out the Navy and Syracuse games. YUP, STATS DON'T MATTER FROM THESE TWOThe offense has averaged 12.3 PPG. NOT GOODThe defense has let up an average of 13.3 PPG. RIDICULOUSLY GOODAs Bring Back noted, there are some talented skill players on offense coming out of the backfield and in the slot. Let’s find some creative ways to get them the ball in space. Degenhardt is limited in his ability to stretch the field, but some more imaginative plays and formations on offense is something he should be able to handle. TALENTED EXCEPT AT ONE KEY POSITIONIf the offense can even somewhat catch up to James’ defense, the league is ours. LEAGUE IS THERE FOR WINNING THIS YEARThe defense is playing out of their minds. Degenhardt is limited. Right now he is the best option. Offense will stay conservative until he either improves or another option emerges. Right now HC is 2-1 vs. FCS. I'll take that. Plus I think winning ugly is refreshing. I hate pinball football.

One other note, Chesney needs to have a much more disciplined team out there. Too many false starts and personal fouls, the latter of which is most concerning.

Today was a real departure from the low number of penalties HC had in the first 4 games. It was almost as if we were trying to stop ourselves at every turn with some key penalties...and the first 2 interceptions of the season. However, they got it together, came back from a 14 point deficit and got the win...all good things to enjoy as the team prepares for Brown.

key penalty late in 4th period... tripping Bucknell on our 10 yrd line... probably would have been a sack but not for a 15 yrd loss
