Disagree DFW the Hoyas issue for depth remains admissions. I have had a conversation with the President, his leadership and Admissions about the problem. There is solid financial aid for those that need it along with their long commitment to helping the larger population of the underserved. the coaching staff has a tough job for now, but that might change as they begin to relax admission requirements for sports other than hoops With an outcome that was never in doubt, this thought. Georgetown has one winning season in this century and has a combined PL record of 23 wins in 115 games. That's no accident. Games like this are ample evidence that Georgetown has no depth because of how they are allowed to recruit. Georgetown's AI is approx. 216. A full 75% of its admissions pool has an SAT of 1420 or higher (25 percent are above 1560). That's over 200 points above the SAT range at Bucknell, Fordham, Lafayette, and Lehigh. 200 points! In other words, the medium and high band kids at these schools aren't even admittable at Georgetown thanks to the AI. The comparable Ivy programs at that level allows those schools to buy out tuition altogether, which Georgetown can't afford to do. So if Sgarlata was able to recruit a player with a 1450 SAT, that can afford to go there, that didn't take a full ride elsewhere in the PL, that didn't get a beter deal in the Ivy, and actually wants to play there, good for him. But there aren't enough of these types to fill out the second and third string, so when players get hurt, you see a lot of kids who weren't recruited to Georgetown to play football, but merely had the AI to fill the gap. That's not a winning formula to compete and the Patriot League has no interest in addressing it. And if you doubt it, ask yourself why Georgetown hasn't placed a single all-PL player on offense since joining the league 18 years ago. None. Impact players aren't sitting around with a 1470 SAT. And they're not coming to Georgetown as long as they remain in the Patriot League under these rules. Which means more losing seasons indefinitely. Agree, but it is an admissions issue more than scholarships, which I am told started to be relaxed somewhat 2 seasons ago

Why not take it to the HOYA Powers That Be instead of CROSSPORTS? BTW - "never in doubt," even late in the first half when GU was moving the ball?

Cool.
Albany 24, Stony Brook 7 early 2nd quarter Villanova 34, Delaware 17, mid third Towson 17, Elon 3 at halftime
If those results hold along with Maine losing to UNH, that means Nova, Albany and Towson would all most certainly punch their tickets.
CCSU destroying Duquesne today in attempt to further their case for a seed. IMO, they deserve it. 11-0 against FCS. Only loss to Eastern Michigan who just clinched bowl eligibility during MACtion this past week (I see bowl eligibility and not bowl BERTH b/c if any FBS team gets left out of a bowl at 6-6, it's EMU).

Several CAA games going on.. we could face 1 game 1. I'm guessing Albany right now If current results hold, I'm guessing Albany or Monmouth. Committee could conceivably pit Villanova and Albany in opening round b/c they did not play each other in CAA play this year. Towson could conceivably be paired with a Wofford or South Carolina State (I had mentioned NC A&T before but apparently FAMU is post-season ineligible so A&T's win today would put them in the Celebration Bowl with the 2nd place MEAC finish.

Your point has been made here. any times over. Why not takjded it to the HOYA Powers that be instead of CROSSPORTS? BTW - "never in doubt," even late in the first half when GU was moving the ball? I was answering a question, that's all. No, it was not in doubt given how many defensive starters were out of this game. Starting a fourth string RB is not a winning formula against the HC rush defense under any circumstances and Georgetown finished with 10 turnovers in its final three games after giving up only two in its first five games this season. Congratulations to Holy Cross, they earned the recognition due them. You can only compete with what you have, which for the road team isn't very much.
