Congrats to the 2019 Patriot League Champs. Hopefully this will serve as a great opportunity to land offensive recruits and a new OC that will push the program to new heights.
Great year by Scott James and his young defensive squad. Interested to see how we stack up in the FCS Playoff.

Your point has been made here. any times over. Why not takjded it to the HOYA Powers that be instead of CROSSPORTS? BTW - "never in doubt," even late in the first half when GU was moving the ball? I was answering a question, that's all. No, it was not in doubt given how many defensive starters were out of this game. Starting a fourth string RB is not a winning formula against the HC rush defense under any circumstances and Georgetown finished with 10 turnovers in its final three games after giving up only two in its first five games this season. Congratulations to Holy Cross, they earned the recognition due them. You can only compete with what you have, which for the road team isn't very much. We will spend the rest of our Saturday enjoying our first PL football championship in 10 years. But I hope you've personally enjoyed winning the PL championship in sandbagging. You guys have a good team. Numerous tough breaks this year. While I hope the Hoyas' title drought continues in 2020, I look forward to seeing them put another solid team on the field, which continues to improve relative to the league in spite of the lack of scholarships that the other 6 schools have at their disposal.

That Championship Season. I don't give a rat's butt about the "problems" of GU f-ball any more than I care about the compromises of GU b-ball. Dudes, be true to your school. I only care about HC. Now, to all the "wise" naysayers decrying Chesney as a Div.3 out-of-his-depth coach and the OC as not up to the task, I say man up, admit your error. For weeks on end I read the misplaced comments of those passing themselves as football cognoscenti. Well, you were wrong and you did not know what you were talking about. Now, admit it. For much of this season I have read with increasing exasperation these type of bitter comments of some HC alums. Although I did not think the comments were fair or made any sense whatsoever, I resisted temptation and largely kept my fingers off the buttons. You were totally wrong about Chesney and the OC and the qb. Admit it! After 10 years in the wilderness in Coach Chesney's second year, HC wins a championship. Congratulations! There I wrote it. I vented. And, I do feel much better. And, I LoveHC I got these magic beans that can grow into the clouds. Just needs a little water.

OK, lets see what we have: Head coach with an overall winning record at HC - COACH CHESNEY (12-11) - check Head coach with an overall winning Patriot League Record - COACH CHESNEY 9-3 - check Number 1 offense in the Patriot League - OC Patrick Murphy - check Number 1 defense in the Patriot League - DC Scott James - check A 1000 yard rusher - Dom Cozier (and rb coach Israel Abraham) - check Boatload of returning players and a powerful incoming class of recruits - check Automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs - check Fantastic effort this year with plenty of kudos to go around. Of course, there will still be those who are unsatisfied, but they have every right to their opinion, as long as they don;gt mind being ignored. GO CROSS GO! ___________________ HC already had a countdown clock for the NCAA selection right after the game. They also had "championship gear" for sale on the website! Nice work in both cases.

Returning senior QB - check. I've been a CD fan all year. Is he among the best we've seen at the position in the Patriot League? Absolutely not. But I'm expecting we'll all see continued improvement into next year. Only 6 INT on the season. Not to mention, from the flash we saw at Fordham, Considine is a highly qualified backup.

Sorrey, but Murphy and Chesney proved absolutely nothing about their offense this year and if you think this is a formula for getting this program to another level, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. Going into next year with this same offensive approach and no Dom Cozier would be a major mistake. Again, kudos to Chesney and the team and Scott James for winning the PLC, but thinking this is a sustainable model for success is akin to thinking Carmody was going to continue winning the PL in hoops with his 1-3-1 gimmick. I am hopeful that we can retain Scott James, get a new OC, and take the program to new heights going forward.

Patriot League Champions - Congratulations to Chesney and the Team -This will go a long way in recruiting for next year.
Great to get a 4 score win and a shutout going into next week.
The good news is that we have a ton of room for improvement coming out of that game.
Hopefully we can look at the tape and start putting together an offensive game-plan that will have us scoring early and in good shape at halftime next week.
Hope the players have an awesome night - Great way to go out on Fitton.

You seem to feel you can leave out any time period of the season, or of a game, you don't like. If you are trying to make a point, I am afraid all that it shows is that you don't have one without playing games with numbers....all of which seem to work only in your favor. Did this team win the PL Championship only because the PL is so bad? Perhaps. But I feel it may not be as bad as you preach so endlessly. I congratulate the players and coaches on their PL title (and on their wins over UNH and Brown ).

It's okay to celebrate the 2019 Patriot League Championship while at the same time preparing for the future. The 2019 Patriot League was awful, yet that doesn't' take anything away from winning it. We just need to utilize it as a stepping stone to improve recruiting, offense, etc rather than sweeping everything under the rug and pretending we are a top tier FCS team.

help me out here. i have not heard anyone claim that we are a "top tier FCS team". if you are going to complain then find some statement or facts to complain about rather than making it up yourself and complaining how terrible this is!!!

You can argue all you want about the league but this is the best team the school put on the field in the last 10 years. Depth of talent is significantly better. You are what the Championship Banner says you are-Champions! Do we want to get better absolutely. But enjoy the banner and trophy, the playoff game or two, and then we can critique the season and future needs. Some of the comments on ways to improve are obvious and valid, but for the next 2 weeks let everybody enjoy something that has been more than rare-a PL Championship as MM67 says Love HC

For the love of God, can we all just enjoy winning the PLC today?
Maybe just sign off for the night and wait until the off-season to start squabbling with each other over semantics..
