Telling, no? A kid named Doherty from Marlborough eschews HC for NU. What a mess.

Did we even express interest in him when he was in the portal?
In 2 years he played 57 minutes going 7-10 on twos and 1-6 on free throws. He grabbed 14 boards had an assist and 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, 2 steals. 11 personal fouls in that short period of time. He really didn't get much of a chance to show what he could do in a game, playing 8 minutes once and 7 minutes twice.

I believe he will do quite well at NU. Kind of a 6-7 Pridgen, if you will.

His style was not Princeton like, doubt we ever recruited him seriously. No clue about academics. Did spot him at the Hart a couple of times during his high school years.

Telling, no? A kid named Doherty from Marlborough eschews HC for NU. What a mess. Unless he wants to be an engineer and he thought a small liberal arts college might not be the best path toward his career goal

Telling, no? A kid named Doherty from Marlborough eschews HC for NU. What a mess. Nice racial profiling 87. This isn't 1978. And there are a number or reasons why a kid would choose NU over HC that are out of HC's control, so save the "what a mess."

Unless he wants to be an engineer and he thought a small liberal arts college might not be the best path toward his career goal Does Notre Dame offer an Engineering Degree? Yes, Notre Dame has a School of Engineering. It is one of very few Catholic schools that have an engineering school.

Telling, no? A kid named Doherty from Marlborough eschews HC for NU. What a mess. You base our interest on What? Kid did at least one midnight run from ND. Also saw him basically quit in a HS game. I'm all set without him.

NU has engineering, a co-op program that places you in PAID jobs (not unpaid internships) during alternate semesters, although I don't know how that interacts with scholarship athletes, and it is Boston the home of the bean and the cod, not Worcester which was once labeled the "The industrial broom closet of New England" in the New York Times. If you are from Marlborough, maybe Worcester doesn't have the luster it has from farther away.
The young man could also get a year of free graduate school out of the transfer. We snagged Reilly away from Phillips Academy. That's at least one vote of confidence in Holy Cross and our new coach.

OK, I wish him well but in the past - he was not at HC. In the present - he is not at HC. And in the future - he will not attend or play for HC. Why is he getting so much attention here?

Northeastern plays in a better league. Not by a great deal according to Pomeroy. I believe the CAA was 4 slots ahead of the PL. I thought it would be much higher than the PL.

OK, I wish him well but,. in the pst - he was not at HC. In the present - he is not at HC. And in the future - he will not attend or play for HC. Why is he getting so much attention here? Local kid wants to transfer from a highly respected Catholic University. I would expect there would be some talk here about him. Now that he has decided where to finish his undergraduate degree, I wouldn’t expect much more. Personally, I would like to see a 4th frosh added.

I've brought him up in the past because he's from my hometown; that's all. He's not a bad kid. That is all.

CAA has four solid teams (W&M, Hofstra, Northeastern, and Charleston) but no one in Pomeroy's top 125. 2007 is not coming back again. Btw, Dane Fisher, former Bucknell #1 assistant, is doing a phenomenal job in his first year at W&M. They were picked to finish a distant 7th - worse by some - after having three of their top four players transfer out. But they are currently undefeated in league play, and they have beaten all of the other top teams.
