Bad turnover by Faw.
AB should have given it to Le Sann in the corner

FINAL. AU, 81-69.
Off the bench - Le Sann with a career high 22m, Hargis continuing to regress.

It has been mentioned, but tired legs may be playing a role on those end of game 3 point shots falling just a bit short. Hargis was a bit better today in his 11 minutes (...against a former teammate from St Anthony's in Jersey City.) He showed a nice touch from the line (2-2).

Caught a couple minutes, foul every time ball inside the paint. Team has no ability to stop the ball.
On target for 28-to possible 30 loss season. Outside of JP, no positives here

Hargis is an excellent FT shooter, but has been contributing little else lately. His D hasn't improved, and he's sloppy with the ball. Has as many TOs - and more PFs - than points in the last five games, and has looked very reluctant to shoot from the field last few times out.

SoV, I guess you count hitting his FTs as "nothing." He showed a smooth touch from the line. I didn't say he was outstanding, just a "bit better." I also mentioned the 11 minutes, but if you needed to repeat that, I imagine you had a reason.

If all we are getting from a player in 11 minutes is two free throws then, yeah, next to nothing.

Why was CLS in there for more than half the game? Perhaps unrelated question: Why did Reilly sit the entire game? Is he that bad? Is there some kind of rule that you never play a walkon ahead of a schollie?

We don't know if Reilly is that bad and we think he is but don't know for sure he is a walk-on. I do like to see a loyal senior like CLS getting a chance to play, but we are thin enough that Reilly could get a few minutes a game also.
With a losing season assured and having three recent starters transfer out, this is an excellent opportunity to get the few healthy, willing and available players all involved in the rotation and rebuild morale.

Some have argued that Reilly is a shooting guard, not a point guard - if so, he's a little too short and a little slow afoot. In any event, Nelson gave him 24m in the Florida Atlantic game, and he didn't take a single shot (or have an assist). He got briefer looks over the balance of the OOC with similar results, and apparently the coach has decided there's not much there there - at least at the moment.
Verbeek was also DNP today.

I think we are assured of much worse than a losing season. It would be nice to grab a couple of wins before it ends.

The Basketball program must gain institutional stability after this season. Too many coaching changes in the last 10 years, a high number transfers (10) and key members of the athletic administration leaving, has made it extremely difficult to build a winning culture.
I hope that the BOT will give ADMB and HCBN the proper support to turn thing around in the next three years. I’m getting old and would like to see a couple of 20 win seasons while I still have cognitive ability to appreciate the victories.
