As I recall "Tim Higgins" was no friend of ours that night! !

Maybe so but he reffed multiple Final 4s and is a fine man

That was Eric Meister's best-ever game wasn't it?

That defense....that relentless half court defense...

Maybe so but he reffed multiple Final 4s and is a fine m an He may be a fine man but both AVB and Tim Clifford fouled out that night. Clifford was called for a few questionable calls that had him on the bench for minutes that did not help us! Meister was great off the bench going 6 for 6 and had 14 points. But without Clifford and his height we were at a disadvantage on defense. Ask Ralph, I know he was not happy with some of the calls!

Our 14-42, 1-11 from three, with Keith shooting 0-5 and Torey 3-16 hurt much more than Tim Higgins. The Saluki defense was terrific. The free throw attempts were even, 31-30 Ralph may not have been happy with Higgins in that game, but I bet if you ask Ralph whether he would want Higgins on a future big game, he would say yes.

I interrupt this trip down Memory Lane for a return to 2020 recruiting. Is this not a travel from the big fella?

Definitely not traveling Once a player has established a pivot foot, he may take a step with the non pivot foot for a one foot take off. Solid foot work

Same rule lets you make a spin move as long as the pivot foot doesn’t come back down. In the NBA, the pivot foot often comes back down on the spin but never gets called.

Had to counteract the circling Salukis.

Ottawa to Worcester is somewhat driveable (412 miles). Only other place that qualifies in that regard is Youngstown, little over 500. Might have a wee bit of influence in his decision.

I am more worried about the Salukis. Does Worcester airport take flights directly from Ottawa ?

I am more worried about the Salukis. Southern Illinois recently got a commitment from a JUCO transfer, J.D. Muila, who was Coulibaly's teammate at CTA in 2018-19. That might be a factor in his decision.

Ottawa to Boston and drive 40 miles. Or Ottawa to Chicago to St. Louis and drive 100 miles. Or just to Chicago and drive 300.
With recent events and the possibility of them reoccurring, the option to drive is good to have as a backup.
However, the MVC is certainly a more attractive basketball conference.

Was going to head out to Columbus with three other pals. Two were high ranking cops, and while at BDL, they got a call about an officer involved shooting and had to bail out of the trip. We went on and had a great trip, other than the game. This thread sparked some chilling memories, as one of the cops, an HC grad, died tragically a couple years ago much too young. The other is the father of one of the HC rowers, who is doing pretty well, all things considered.

Back to Louth, this is the kind of recruiting win we could really use.....

Back to Louth, this is the kind of recruiting win we could really use..... and the kind of recruiting win that a young, connected coach like nelson should win. what is sacrificed with the weakness of limited head coaching experience should ideally be compensated with the strength of recruiting relatability for a coach like nelson.

Tried to go. Flight from JFK cancelled due to snowstorm. Watched at an HC dominated pub in Manhattan. Do not like watching at a crowded bar- cannot concentrate, very similar story on my end. flight from baltimore to indy was cancelled. spent a few hours at bwi with nhteamer and ended up at a HC-dominated pub in DC. literal lol at your final line, as i also felt like i could not concentrate and focus in the same way as in person or at home. siu was an absolute nightmare matchup for us. they did everything we did... and did it better with better personnel. one of the best defensive teams - not coached by tony bennett - that i can recall in recent memory. absolutely ferocious. especially tony young, one of the best defenders i have ever seen at any level.

I think we would have been better off as a 15 seed against a high major 2 seed - they typically don't approach these games with the same kind of in your face intensity that SIU displayed all game long. And that Randall Mother Faulkner was like Jehyve….before Jehyve. I may be wrong, but didn't Keith end up having a dehydration relapse in this game (after being able to manage it all year)? It's no wonder against that team.

Back to Louth, this is the kind of recruiting win we could really use..... St. Bonaventure is also very interested in Coulibaly, though not clear that they have offered him. Realistically, Holy Cross has to be considered a long shot going up against the MVC and A10.

Realistically, Holy Cross has to be considered a long shot going up against the MVC and A10. Seeing he's from Canada, wonder how much that plays into his decision; not like it's Big East or ACC games that even the Great White North gets telecasts of.
