regarding the roster size for the fall 2021, can someone explain to me how we can remain at 90, after tmro's signees and with some seniors (from this roster) opting to play in the fall which I am assuming will be permitted

It is also true, as per recent NCAA decisions, the seniors will have a year of eligibility when they graduate and move on. (If the PL cancels Spring football shortly there may be talk about a few senior football players withdrawing for the Spring and returning in the Fall and then graduating [our current medical redshirt process] but I just don’t see that occurring much at all at HC.)

For today's signing day, we have 14 new Crusaders added to the football program -- 13 incoming freshmen and one transfer. The quality of the incoming players is outstanding.
There are 18 seniors on the 2020 football roster. Assuming all of these seniors graduate in May 2021, that leaves 4 open slots to be filled. If any seniors carry over to the 2021 roster (via medical redshirt or otherwise), that would reduce the number of open slots accordingly. (All of this assumes that the PL roster limitation remains in place and that the 18 seniors all participate in a spring football season, if the Patriot League decides to hold one.)
As of now, it seems that the February Signing Date will see relatively little activity by Holy Cross. Of course, things could change at any time.

As of now, it seems that the February Signing Date will see relatively little activity by Holy Cross. Of course, things could change at any time. Unless there are seniors who would qualify for a medical redshirt, I would imagine that most of them might not have the current academic profile to qualify for an academic exception for a 5th year in the PL. As I understand that exception, a player must show that there is an academic necessity for being granted a 5th year of PL eligibility. Most seniors likely didn’t plan on having a 5th year, and didn't already have a double major or minor course of study in place prior to their senior year that would enable such continued eligibility. That may not be the case for the rest of the current roster, since many of them might have sufficient time to plan ahead for that 5th year if they are so inclined and the coaches welcome them back for an additional year.

Thanks for all of your work throughout this Breezy. My thanks and best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and a much better 2021. But I have to give credit where credit is due -- dharry13 and I have been in constant contact (both on this board and in private communications) and he has been a tremendous help in following HC football recruiting activity. Posters who follow this board regularly have undoubtedly noticed his many contributions.

Excellent work by breezy and dharry13. Rumor has it they’re exploring an opportunity to outsource this work to richh for next season so they can have a life outside of tracking recruiting.

Ha! I do truly love the recruiting side of things and it's been great to create a relationship and friendship with Breezy among others.
Couple of other tidbits.
Trent leduc - signed with URI. Would have been a nice get for a second TE.
Guys I'm following for the next signing period. Casey Reynolds - believe he works out with Sluka in Long Island. Shackford - the Kicker/Punter. He has a good amount of interest.
Personally I think if they were to have 4 open roster spots I think they need a P/K - they only have 2 on the roster. I think they need another QB. If Considine/Degenhardt leave and don't play for HC in the Fall they would have only 4 on the roster. IMO they need one more. I think they might need another TE as that position is thin. Finally possibly another DB/WR.

Fordham picked up Matt Jaworski. DT who is from NY but played this past season in AL.
He got offers from Central Michigan and New Mexico late in the process. Pretty darn good pick up for Fordham. HC was high on him.

I am trying to retire from recruit searching. While I like following recruiting it is not as much fun as it was pre twitter.breezy and dharry do a remarkable tracking Cross recruiting. Heck, I check on them for the daily updates😳

Great video, and again a big thanks to the Luths, William P. Maloney '59, and all the donors for the complex, including the football coaches suite (Maloney) and the auditorium, (Bill Doran '77). Can't even imagine this video being made from the old offices in the field house.

If you haven't listened to it, there is a 25 minute podcast with Chesney on Spotify talking about the players who signed on signing day. Pretty good listen.

Chesney is just a gem 👍
BTW, that background music is quite appealing to these ears. Anyone know a name or where it comes from?
