Program meltdown, hard to take ever since Willard’s tenure.

I have thought for a while BV transferring was a real possibility. I suspect he will garner a lot of interest from D 2 programs.

Expect as many as three more players to leave in short order.

Recruiting down until at least April 15th is going to hurt us - we clearly need to do more recruiting for next season

It’s too bad transfers from major programs weren’t given immediate eligibility, like football players jumping from 1A (FBS) to 1AA (FCS).

Recruiting down until at least April 15th is going to hurt us - we clearly need to do more recruiting for next season We still have offers out there on players who haven’t made their decision. Unless there is a wave of decommitments due to coaching changes, I don’t see much of an opportunity to get involved with new recruits from the class of 2020 at this late date. Transfers may be a different story and they could help with the numbers for practice immediately. Games are a different story.

Might be staring at a (very) low-budget version of a "Fab Five" sequel this fall.

All fine and dandy, but I wonder how this is being perceived outside of the program.
Wish Blake well...

All fine and dandy, but I wonder how this is being perceived outside of the program. Wish Blake well... Yes--I'd guess that many observers must be thinking "What is wrong at HC to make so many players bail out?" I'm guessing the NCAA rules and the fact they played this year mean Faw, Butler, Niego will be with us next year. If we can keep Joe Pridgen and if the incoming freshmen do not bail out we should be able to put a team on the court next season.

If the young man couldn't see steady minutes once he was by default seventh man, he never will at Holy Cross. Carmody's recruiting class entering in the fall of 2018 was totally unacceptable, even for a low major.

Attracting transfers that are worth it might not be that easy. HC has a fairly limited course/major offering, no grad school for a fifth year, a currently poor basketball program, an uninspiring league, an unproven coach, a tough admissions criteria, and a partridge in a pear tree.
A high academic kid who is lighting up D-2 or 3 might be an option.

Nobody is coming to the Patriot League. I feel bad for the coaches, it's not easy to recruit when you come in last in a bad league.

Well, no one forced him to sign on to become coach. I'm supporting him fully, but it's his baby now.....

I wish BV well, but he probably came to HC with the promise/expectation of much playing time and it's clear he wasn't going to get it. He's not a strong D1 player. If there's a re-build (please) he wasn't going to be part of it. Although the stream of players transferring out is troubling I chalk this one up as unsurprising.

The more I think about it, this pandemic is going to cause a lot of transfers for a lot of reasons.
In the case of Holy Cross, with it's terrible season, the players that might leave are low hanging fruit so to speak.
