In agree about the acting out there. If the refs buy it, that can be deadly all by itself. Capt. Obvious here, but we need to get some minutes from Townsel, Rabinowitz and/or Coulibaly. Will see see them at all this year? It doesn't appear that Townsel and Rabinovich are ready to contribute. Maybe in time. Not sure about Coulibaly--is he even dressing for games? I didn't see the whole game today. From the silver lining dept.: we're a better team than least year that is going to continue to get better. We have some talented, athletic, physical new players. We also have some glaring problems: interior defense and rebounding. Matt Faw, whose effort is always commendable, seems like a forward playing center. But we're a competitive team and when we beat Lehigh tomorrow we'll match last year's win total. Louth was dressed last weekend and was dressed today.

A top priority now for the opposition seems to be watching AB like a hawk behind the arc. Feels like it's been a while since he's gotten even one open look at a 3.
Rabs was there in sweats today, fwiw. Louth, on the other hand, has the uni on. From a distance, with his size and big hair, it looks like Jehyve Floyd is still around.

Butler was terrible..... Future of this team is Gates, Bo, and RJ....need others to develop. Wade has been a huge disappointment. I disagree about Wade. He plays good defense and is a smart player. Offensively he seems to be mostly a jump shooter. He's going to be a core rotational guy for the next few years. I love Butler but he had an odd game. He is shooting 36% from the field through 6 games, doesn’t rebound, doesn’t create. He’s an average defender relatively speaking. Is being the best defender on one of the worst defensive teams in the country all that great? The program needs Kevin Hamilton’s, Keith Simmons, Devin Browns, RJ Evans, Malcolm Millers....not another Kyle Cruze....

No matter what, we will not match the losses. Well, today was Saturday, so there is that. BUT, tomorrow is SUNday and the sun will come out tomorrow. (I remember hearing that somewhere.)

Don’t understand the negativity toward Butler and/or Wade. They stuck it out when others bolted. They both appear to give max effort at all times on the court. They both seem to be good kids who work very hard. Are they perfect bball players? No. If they were, they wouldn’t be in the PL. But they play their ***** off and represent the College well. Very happy to have both as part of the program regardless of whether they play well on a given day or they struggle.

I found myself in the Cutout Cru! My dog shows up when they focus on the foul shooter when the foul shots are being taken at the HC bench end. Second row from the top. Either that or someone else sent in a photo of the same kind of dog.

I just don’t think these two young men are on the list of responsible parties for our ineptitude since RW left.

Wade reminds me a bit of Kyle Cruze. As bbc noted elsewhere, Greg Kinsey is a good comp, too. He wasn't a very good offensive player, but I was always glad he was on our side when our opponents had the ball.

He wasn't a very good offensive player, but I was always glad he was on our side when our opponents had the ball. Wade is 7 games into his sophomore season and the time between his first and second seasons certainly didn’t allow for nearly as many opportunities to improve as might have been available in a normal year. Let’s hold off on the comps until we see the finished product. I think he will be viewed as a good offensive player before it’s all said and done to go along with his strong defense.

The game I am watching has Wade performing well on the defensive end.
The coach doesn’t run much offensively FOR ANYBODY, as it is a weave up top and whoever thinks they can beat their defender does their thing 1-1.
Wade seems relegated to an outlet role and an open shooter. Hard to get in any rhythm for a shooter the way this tam plays offensively. Imho he is in a catch and shoot role-watch the games this season and see how many screens were set for him-maybe 2 as he is the 4th/5th option on the floor depending on the rotation. My bet is if the staff ran anything for him each game he would get his 8-10
And as someone said earlier too many mistakes on defense which might suggest they aren’t spending time teaching the basic principles.
I might be a minority here when it comes to Faw, but he continues to get better, and I give him most of the credit for his commitment and apparent work ethic.yes the Carmody and Nelson staff deserve some credit for his development but give the young man his due.
Watch tomorrow if Nelson switches to 3/4 or 1/2 court pressure to change the look and reduce the exposure on the back end, will he decide to occasionally front the Lehigh bigs with a double on the back side and better wing rotation on the weak side, and will he offer a few different offensive looks to play to the strengths of the team on the floor. There are different set play options to isolate or expose Lehigh for some good looks, but that can wait until next year.
A real bright future ahead as players develop, recruiting continues at this level, and game decisions get better which remains my concern for the program to advance where we all want it to be

Time to trot out the expression “we are never as good as we think we are and never as bad as we think we are.” I cautioned over exuberance when we were 2-2 but also caution not to be too negative now. The inexperience with so many freshmen and transfers almost guarantees that we will be consistently inconsistent, high degree of variability. We literally threw this winnable game away. We really need to see Rabs and Oh, Canada 🇨🇦 on the floor. Unless Rabs is injured but no evidence of that. Isn't he in sweats every game, not a uniform? Unless it's some kind of discipline/violation of team rules; it can't possibly be due to or related to "coach's decision".

I will always hold Faw, Butler, and Wade in high regard because of 1.) their loyalty to the program and the school, and 2.) their unremitting effort.

I didn't express my prior post well. I meant there was nothing obvious like cast, crutches, etc. That said, there might well be some less visible injury. .

And I'll always give the players who left a pass because there was no smooth transfer of the baton between a retiring coach and a new hire, and the exact circumstances causing each departure are unknown.

I’m somewhat encouraged by the fact that in our five losses this season there was only one in which we were never really in it.

Watched my first minutes of HC live action today while babysitting my one year old daughter. I like where this team is headed when it comes to the rest of this season and next. The youngsters are getting valuable minutes but not averaging 35 PPG on their way to UNC-Whatever or Directional Michigan next year. Good mix of productive leadership with Gates and Butler pacing the upperclassmen, along with the likes of Wade and RJ Johnson getting meaningful floor time. I really like Johnson -- he could be a good one. Maybe an Anthony Thompson with a jump shot?

If it’s your daughter, I don’t think you can call it babysitting. 😁
