PB played so little last year that I have no idea what his potential is. His stats last night were encouraging. Next up So Carolina and Syracuse IIRC, Benzan was recovering from some sort of foot injury in the beginning of the season. Being hampered through pre-season practice left him a little behind the learning curve

I was at the game, here is my thoughts. - Free throw shooting was atrocious. This always scares me. MA was awful, but this is hopefully an aberration.
- MA was good, but I was hoping that he would take over more. I want to see the MA from the playoffs last year, where he just dominated
Maybe your first MA is actually MH ? FT--63%, not great, but not atrocious 11-14 in second half last season we shot 69%

Think he was talking about Malachi's free throw shooting in the first instance and his overall play in the second.

Think he was talking about Malachi's free throw shooting in the first instance and his overall play in the second. Maybe, but his statement that our FT shooting was atrocious is incorrect. 63% is far from atrocious.

How about some goholycross.com highlights from the game? How about some type of Men''s Basketball content to get people excited for the season? We have the defending PL champs playing in a "new" arena with the season starting in 8 days, yet there has not been any type of marketing effort to get people interested in the season, and the only glimpse that we've had into the "new" building was a 45 second teaser video. No video from PL Media Day, no video from Coach''s Night, no preview video with short practice clips and player interviews, not a peep from Coach Carmody, no tour of the "new" arena, etc. etc. The team gained a ton of traction last March, but the Athletic Department has made no effort to maintain at least some of that interest. That is available somewhere as I saw the replay. I do agree that we could do more to promote the start of the season

Maybe, but his statement that our FT shooting was atrocious is incorrect. 63% is far from atrocious. We will be okay to good on free throw shooting as we don't have any players who (A) are atrocious free throw shooters AND (B) will take a lot of free throws. KC took the most free throws last season (and presumably will this season) and he shot a stellar .792. MA took the second most and he was a suboptimal .632, mediocre, but not horrendous. He was better as a frosh and soph. RC was third in attempts and shot .650, and AT was fourth in attempts and is an exceptional free throw shooter--.795 last season and .751 for his career. I think Pat Benzan will do well from the line.

Crosser, download them to YouTube and then simply copy the link to a post. We can click on the link. I have done this for football. Good suggestion, but I'd need some direction on how to download something to You Tube

That is a bit disappointing. Perhaps they are trying not to take anything away from the Ram-Crusader Cup and we will see a big push starting next weekend. That's very wishful thinking. I'm afraid the real reason is that the "Execution" page is missing from the current AD playbook. The examples are starting to pile up.

What are the four or five most egregious examples of failed execution?

Maybe you live in a cave. There is consistent broadcast and Internet marketing ongoing for the hoop season in greater Worc. There is a long video with player quips among other vignettes, and more, including a live Web cam about the revamped Hart on GoHC. Every coaches show is broadcast live on the radio and via audio stream, as well as on live video on the PL Network, and archived there as well. And Carm was a guest last week, and will be several times throughout the school year. HC also pays to broadcast every FB and MBB game, as well as 2 WBB and 2 Hockey games. To say HC is doing nothing to promote the season is flat out wrong.

Has all this marketing resulted in increased attendance in athletic events at HC?

CTP: Thanks for the reminder of what is going on in the Greater Worcester area. As a distant alum (in far-off NJ) I do not get to see the local promotions and, after all, that is where fans are to be found. It appears that this is being handled and HC is being promoted well to local fans (hopefully recruiting more in he process). Perhaps some of this criticism comes from each of us having one or two sources we rely on for information and we are upset to see HC seemingly ignoring them or not giving them the attention we would like.

Good suggestion, but I'd need some direction on how to download something to You Tube If you have an iPhone: 1. Set up a YouTube account on your phone. 2. Click the video you want to upload. 3. On the bottom of the screen, you'll see a rectangle with an arrow pointing up. Press that. 4. Select YouTube as the place you want to send the video. Guessing the process is something similar for other phones.

Has all this marketing resulted in increased attendance in athletic events at HC? having lived in Worcester for a number of years I'm skeptical that promotion without performance on the field/court will do much... my non alum friends are still 'wait & see'...The UMass/DCU game will be interesting but not conclusive re the impact of promotion; season ticket sales would be interesting

hc6774--I agree. Others have said it, but I'll add my little bit of weight to the matter: if we put a winning team on the court local citizens and students will respond and our attendance will improve measurably. "Marketing" needs a solid product to promote--it certainly will have an effect, but you must have the product. With this coach and the way he is advancing the program, I think we will have an improving product.

Same basic instructions, except on your laptop, with the video transferred to your laptop or phone with the ideo connected to your laptop.

In other scrimmages, that ACC school in Chestnut Hill romped over Stonehill 81-74 . Harvard beat MIT rather handily, and Harvard's freshmen class had 122 of the 200 minutes. Maybe Amaker will alternate rosters, freshmen one game, upperclassmen the next.
