Interesting that we have only 8 senior starters, 4 on each side of the ball. Good news for our second 2021 season. Will they be listed as 2021A and 2021B ?

Taking a look at the depth chart and maybe I missed something/injury/other but why is Tenio Ayeni not starting alongside Asante and Gilliam at WR?

Lehigh Game Notes up. To say the least, Tom has shaken up the lineups quite a bit. No surprise lots of frosh and soph.

Hopefully Liam Doran’s injury won’t sideline him too long. He and Dobbs played well together last year.

I've heard excellent things about Liam Anderson this camp at LB. Forrest hurt, Kiessling hurt, Tenio hurt.
Also 1 of the Seniors - Brekke, I believe has another year or two of eligibility due to injury.

Note that Macklin Kortebein, a 5th year senior, is listed as #1 kick returner. He has played on special teams for years without touching the ball very often; then last season, in the last game against Monmouth, he returned 3 kickoffs for 128 yards: outstanding. Perhaps we should have envisioned this, as in 2018 he returned 3 punts for 52 yards. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do returning 2 or 3 kicks a game

K Lowery second on depth chart at DE. I think he has been 224 lbs since he came in as a freshman.

Interested to see the quarterback play. Degenhardt is starting. HC has a lot of weapons at wide receiver will be interesting to see if Degenhardt can stay in the whole year. I think any of the HC quarterbacks are good enough to run away with the PL. But in the playoffs you need elite quarterback play.

When is the team traveling to Lehigh? If they don't leave until Saturday morning, I worry a bit about some "bus lag".

At what point are all the tests on both sides in so that I can actually believe this game is going to happen? Trying not to get too excited but it would awesome to be able to watch an HC football game tomorrow.

The entire team is traveling, four buses.
BC sent an email attesting to the small convoy. Also from his email, this para, as I suspect td128 won't post it.

Well, HERE WE GO!!!
Football season is finally upon us. It does not look exactly the same as football seasons of the past, but I can assure you that it FEELS very much the same for the young men and coaches on our team.
How this four game season will play out is still unknown but we have a schedule, practice times secured, virtual meetings locked in, one hotel, four busses and ninety eager young men ready for the start of this journey. Let’s GO!!!
As many of you are aware, our team arrived on campus in mid-January, and, after a quarantine period, we began our strength and conditioning program. We were all impressed with our team’s fitness levels and the commitment of our Crusaders to be ready after an unprecedented layoff.
After two weeks in our weight room and conditioning pods, we were able to move to larger groups for walk-throughs, and a few weeks after that, we entered into our 2021 spring football camp. We were all anxious to see how much from the virtual meetings of the last year had been absorbed and were ready for physical use. To our team’s credit, they were prepared, and they are continuing to get better each day.
As I mentioned in my last letter, we have and will continue to embrace the challenges that this year has presented. We have been working in overdrive to overcome the time we would have committed this fall to bolstering important aspects of our game, from schematic competence, situational awareness and fundamentals, to camaraderie, team dynamics and the overall flow of practice. We asked our Crusaders to dedicate themselves to soaking up those lessons and skills in the time we had leading up to Game #1… and they did.
It is an enormous credit to our young men to handle their new normal in such a professional way. I cannot imagine going through football camp while school is in session, nevertheless doing so while dealing with quarantines and contact tracing, meeting virtually for football install and review, attending virtual classes, eating to-go meals at home, and only after all of this, getting to play football – and doing all of this, practice included, while wearing a mask! You ALL should be VERY proud of these young men – now more so than ever– and I hope you continue to support them unconditionally, because they are doing something that none of us have ever done.
I would also like to acknowledge and congratulate Artie Grutt ’02, as he transitions into his new role as head of the 90-Wide. It goes without saying – but I’ll say it anyway – that we are FOREVER indebted to Larry Doyle ’83 for all that he has done to support our current team and to support every Crusader who has benefitted from this unrivaled program. I do not believe that anyone could fully understand the amount of time and energy that Larry has put into making the 90-Wide “Best in Class,” and the amount of time he was willing to give to me and our team will forever be appreciated. I look forward to continuing this program with Artie and each of you.
Wheels roll to Bethlehem, PA early Friday morning for our first game, March 13 against Lehigh. While we wish we could have you physically behind us, cheering us on, we know we will feel your spirit, and I hope that you will also feel ours.
We will continue to take things one week at a time, and this week it’s GAME WEEK!!
Bob Chesney --Head Coach

HC also a whopping -265 to -315 on the $ line depending on the shop. Tells you how good wiseguys think HC will be / how bad Lehigh will be.

OK, for those of us with limited experience in sports betting. Please explain those numbers, CTP. On a $100 play on HC you'll lose 265-315 plus the vig if HC loses, win $100 if they win. On a $100 play on lehigh, you'll lose 110 if they lose, but earn 225-250 if they win outright.
