Has now played this way for 4,100 minutes - through injuries, abrupt position changes, roster upheavals, evolving role expectations. At Charlotte, he's second in minutes, averaging 15 and 7.5 (per 40).
Wonder who's played the most minutes at HC since 2009-10?

So interesting that he chose a sweep spot of D.1 bball where he can thrive - the 49'ers are 11-9 after a loss to WKU last night he's started all 20 games, averages 12 pts/6 rebs per game in 32 mins/game (classmate Matt Faw is a backup at NJIT but getting action in all of their games)

Short season his senior year might make that one tough. I would guess someone like a Burrell or Thompson who played a lot as a freshman

Austin when recruited, was the player in the class of 2021, I believed had the greatest potential to succeed.
Glad to see that he is showing that my belief was not misplaced. He and his family are to be applauded for their loyalty to HC during four years of turmoil.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite players. A light in a very dark time for HC basketball.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite players. A light in a very dark time for HC basketball. Agree 100% and I think I was one of his top supporters from Day One. Iwas always baffled by one of our board experts who believed he was a D-3 level player. It might have been the same guy who disputed my contention that, unshackled, AB would be a top rebounder. Come to think of it I think the same expert also felt Peter Oliver was not a good running back, but I'm headed off on a tangent now so I'll stop.

First time I saw Austin in person was at Sacred Heart. His talent and his game were impressive, but his greatest asset was his heart. When I see other players at HC now, I always compare them to him in that regard. Some are starting to come close. His having to play injured was too bad and I am glad he now has a chance to show off his complete game. He is someone that I hope stays part of the HC basketball program.

Not sure who is interested but one of Austin’s little brothers is a star at D2 West Liberty who is ranked #5 in the country.

I did not see a separate thread for Matt Faw so I hope Austin will not mind me posting on his thread that Matt had 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots as NJIT beat UNH today

UNC Charlotte was eliminated in the C-USA tournament by Rice, but AB had 16 points and 12 rebounds. For the season he was the second leading scorer and rebounder. He was also named to the league all-academic team with a 4.0 GPA. Impressive as always.

W Liberty eliminated. Same tournament, Bentley still alive, all other NE schools gone.
Always wondered if and when the Falcons would try and move up after Merrimack did. There is also UNH (New Haven, that is) who is also considering it.

Obviously done in 4 1/2 years instead of 4 and also that whole graduation thing had him finish at another school, but. . .
If the whole 1706 were as a Crusader, that would be good for 9th on the all time list, passing Keith Simmons and behind #8 Mike Vicens. Not shabby names to be associated with
As it is, his 1321 as a Crusader is good for 21st all time in 3 1/2 years. Also not too shabby

Austin shot .379 on his threes for his career which would be #19 in the country if a team did that. In the two seasons after getting fully healthy (sr @ HC then the Charlotte year) he shot .422.
Then there's the rebounding......
