No objections from the graduates or guests, if commencement were to be held in an outdoor setting....say Fitton Field?......for health safety concerns as it was in 2021.

Any chance the spike is due to more students intentionally getting tested ahead of an exam, in the hopes they'd be positive and get an extension? Or is the school still mandating all students get tested on a weekly basis?

Positivity rates are up significantly in my area. Luckily, no one seems to be getting particularly sick, at least among those I know who have tested positive.

On Monday, May 9, the positive test rate was 100 percent: 26 students, 26 positive tests. Three possible explanations for the perfect batting average: 1.) a retest of all 26 students who had tested positive May 5-7, trying to clear them to take in-person finals: 2.) a cluster of students who were tested because they were symptomatic; 3.) a cluster that was specially called in for testing because of proximate contacts with an infected person(s).
On Tuesday. 96 students and 7 staff tested positive. The positivity rate for students and staff was 6.8 percent. The number of students who were classified as an active case was 142. Nearly all were students who had tested positive May 6-10, three were students who tested positive before May 6. The duration of a person being classified as an active case is about four days.
I suspect the Worcester Board of Health would cast a jaundiced eye on holding an indoor commencement where the graduates have a high positivity rate.

If the BOH members are jaundiced they should be quarantined. If a member(s) of the baseball team has the sniffles this week will he/they get tested?

I haven't even anecdotally heard about anyone getting hospitalized in my circles in at least 6 months. And I had at least 20 people I know personally die from COVID during the first wave. Another interesting tidbit. The Bronx is one of just 4 counties in all of NYS that is currently listed as LOW RISK based on current positivity trends. Despite being the county with the lowest vaccination rate.

Updated values. 28 tested positive on Monday, 27 were students. 2566 tested on Tuesday and today (Wed.) As this is a mid-day figure, the numbers are likely to increase. So far today, 85 more students have tested positive. Updated numbers for Tuesday increased the number of students testing positive to 107. Over 230 students now classified as an active case.

What is it that they say about doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different outcome? Was pleased to hear that some students on campus declared themselves as Conscientious Objectors in defiance of the Mask Mandates recently reimposed by the administration. Good for them. I recall some around these parts who were not overly enamored with the use of ivermectin if need be ( I used it for one period when I knew I had been exposed) while employing a regular program of quercetin, zinc, and Vitamins C and D. That combination along with rigorous cardiovascular exercise has continued to work wonders for me and many others to whom I recommended it. On the topic of ivermectin, ICYMI from January 2021, I welcome sharing the following 20 minute short documentary. Remember, follow the $$$. Since the school owns Fitton, weather permitting, that could be a fairly last minute switch if they decided to go that route. Weather permitting of course. You can't please everyone, but I think it likely that most people wouldn't be overly upset if commencement got moved to Fitton because of COVID. The graduates themselves would probably prefer it

Or is the school still mandating all students get tested on a weekly basis? Students have been required to test twice per week all semester. Unlikely students would want to test positive now as the school is not very friendly in terms of exam make ups.

Wouldn't it be a kick in the you-know-where if Fauci's ceremony were called off because Holy Cross re-instituted its Covid policies?
Hope it doesn't- we have 3 50 year reunions at stake.

Dr. Fauci was smart to pass up the indoor White House Correspondents dinner. A bunch tested positive afterward. All ceremonies honoring him at HC should be able to be held outdoors.

After reading the results of what is very likely the definitive study on the efficacy of Ivermectin several weeks ago, I decided not to post the results on Crossports. 'Why beat a dead horse, I thought.' Below are excerpts from an article recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine. In sum, the results of a very large randomized trial in Brazil on the use of Ivermectin compared to placebo determined that administration of Ivermectin offered no statistically significant benefit over taking a placebo. (Sorry, I did not scrub the excerpts for footnote citation numbers.) This article was published on March 30, 2022, and updated on April 5, 2022, at NEJM.org. Follow the money, Phreek. These medical journals are all little more than paid propaganda for the Big Pharma Swamp. Wall Street uses the same sort of charades. See Ed’s post 😉
Unitaid is just another of Bill Gates’ pass thrus. Sent a cool $40mm to Andy Hill’s employer at University of Liverpool to buy his silence costing the lives of hundreds of thousands. What a shame but life is cheap for Big Pharma when there are billion$$ to be made. Hide the data. Get the msm to run cover all while the kids got screwed and the devastatibg side effects from high blood pressure, clotting and heart ailments pile up.
Money talks. Always about the money. Again, See Ed’s post. $$$
Shame on HC.

You countered with unreferenced and slanderous accusations having nothing to do with his post. I am a physician and I have taken an oath to do the best for those I serve. If there is a grand cabal of organized medicine, companies and government with "blood on their hands" trying to deceive me, I want to know about it. Every time I research these wild stories it turns out to be garbage., "Ed's post" included.

WPI announced last week that they would cease testing on May 15th, and thereafter, test only when apparently someone who was symptomatic. WPI's commencement was May 14.

Graduation off campus inside an old and dark arena (where masks must be worn because better safe than sorry) vs. an outdoor graduation (the safest option?) at a beautiful football field on a beautiful campus. Leave it to HC to botch this.
