The Regis game is now starting to take on a lot of significance. They were 8-18 in Div III last season. I know most of the posters on this board will be watching anxiously. They were not big in 2019-2020 for a D3 team and were semi athletic.

As my friend says, they are small but slow.

Is "semi-athletic" the same as "slightly pregnant"?

Is "semi-athletic" the same as "slightly pregnant"? It means a high probability of getting your shot blocked, your rebound taken away and your dribble stolen. But enough about my BB experience.😂

Loyola bridged the halves with a 19-1 run and ended up beating Johns Hopkins 60-49. Greyhounds open regular season at UNC.

FWIW, Sports Illustrated ranked HC #311 of 358 and 7th in PL (ahead of Lehigh, Lafayette & American in that order) with the following note: “Holy Cross and star big man Gerrale Gates have to be looking forward to a more normal schedule than last season, when their 16 games came against just four opponents (including 6 games against Boston University).”
PL Rankings are: Colgate 109 Boston U. 221 Navy 235 Army 262 Bucknell 279 Loyola 298 HC 311 Lehigh 316 Lafayette 321 American 335

At 6’4 1/2 -6’5 1/2 take your pick of his size Gates is not a 5 but a wonderful 4 at the low-mid major level

He has and will be our inside scorer.

Don't disagree and not my point He can play at any size Btw 15 years ago I was 6’4 and Dantley is a legit 6’5 with shoes No bigger but he is taller His son Cameron and my son played together He is a tough dad in the stands I guess Alum can jump in now

How tall was Michael Vicens? Have heard everything from 6-6 to (barely) 6-4.
Certainly "played taller", that's for sure.

I think this is a pretty accurate analysis. HC's greatest weakness is at the 5 spot. The potential good news is that both big guys are young, and presumably haven't hit their ceiling. They don't need to dominate, but they need to rebound, play decent defense in the paint, and score a little. One strange comment in the analysis is that "Nelson lost another battle to the portal" with AB.

Very nice to set such low expectations. It'll make it that much easier to exceed.

How about the 27 and 26 man rosters at Navy and Army ? - same strategy as with football when they bring in 60-70 man classes every year - they only need to 'hit' on a small % to remain competitive in D.1
