If Siderman didn’t come in game it was over. Run first QB offense is clearly not effective. Time to throw ball and mix in and the run. It will be interesting to see how they adjust against Monmouth.

Did Jalen Coker he play at all today? Is he injured? Will he play against Monmouth? He was, after all, the leading HC receiver for our first two games. 11 total receptions all day for receivers, he had zero. Not many balls to go around. Defense time on field was 27:54. Much better error earlier had HC on field 42 minutes.

Like I said, about to get ugly. Might go spend time with the family for the 2nd half. Glad I didn't follow your advice.
You don't give these HC kids half the credit they deserve. They are a very gritty bunch.
Great win, Crusaders!

This is a great win for Holy Cross! I really believe Yale is one of the most talented teams in FCS; still convinced they'll go 7-3/8-2/9-1. Holy Cross was able to regroup after a tough loss, sign of a very good coach, and catch a team perhaps at just the right time.
It does not get any easier next week against Monmouth. The Hawks have excellent team speed! An at-large bid is still on the table should the Crusaders stumble once in the PL....
BTW, Lehigh is an absolute disaster; currently on a 10 game losing streak, 0 touchdowns through 3 games. Their game against Colgate next week will be quite depressing given how many HUGE games the two have played over the last 25 years.

If the team executes the rest of the season, next week might determine the future position and opportunities if we lose to Fordham
We have 6 pretty good teams on the schedule- UConn 1A, and 5 1AA teams -Merrimack, Yale, Monmouth, Harvard and Fordham, with a handful of competitive match ups in Lafayette, Georgetown, and Bucknell. Lehigh and Colgate on paper should be the only slam dunks for 2021.
One game at a time, but I think today was a nice win although we might not might win this more than 5/10 times- love the result

HC was 2 of 13 in third down conversions. Last week, it was one of seven, or one of eight. Those percentages don't usually win you many games. Attendance was 4,000. Probably accurate.

Another big stat: No Crusader turnovers. One fumble but recovered it.

It looks like they double counted a Yale possession in the second quarter for TOP.

Announcers were among the worst ever They rarely named any defender. Dobbs’ constant plays forced during them to mention him They mentioned very few Yale defenders as well. They loved listening to themselves, only occasionally referring to what was happening on the field. After the game while Ches was addressing our team they spoke only of Yale.

Chez is doing a decent job running a run first offense. We ran for 127 yards last week against Merrimack. —— Stand by previous post 100%. Beating Yale is nice, but needing to thread the needle against a team that hadn’t played a football game in 2 years because we can’t put together a gameplan that generates a completion until the end of the 2nd quarter is not going to raise the ceiling of where this program has been the last two years — capable of winning a bad pL, then getting steamrolled as a bottom seed in the first round of the playoffs. Kudos to the defense for buckling down after the 74 yard Yale TD in the 2nd quarter. Only 1 drive longer than 5 plays in Yale’s next 7 possessions and only 3 points. Bailed out the offense. "Beating Yale is nice." Especially since it has happened as often as Halley's Comet.

How about the freshman Justin Shorter’s first career catch being a 63 yard thing of beauty from Siderman.

ESPN should be embarrassed to have its brand associated with this broadcast.

Any day with a win over Yale (especially on the road) is a great day. Excellent win.
Monmouth is also going to be a hell of a test. Regardless how the remainder of non-con goes, HC will be incredibly tested going into the PL schedule.
IMO there are some tweaks that can be made that could be the difference between a good offense and a great offense.

Where did I give you or anyone else advice? Speaking for myself,…Had to run an errand with my daughter and sometimes it helps to get away for a bit. Clearly it did because we scored our first TD when I was away (but listening on my phone in the car) Got back home and watched the entire second half back. I’ve given “these HC kids” consistent credit and support of all forms through thick and thin for years. Let’s just look at the the posts after the Merrimack game….I could bring receipts for days of all the fair weather fans on this board. Especially if I check in during basketball season which I rarely have for the past 5 years because all of the negativity.

Which was the more impressive win for HC? UConn? Yale? Yale. Sluka was the best player on the field. The Yale announcers were raving about him. Dobbs had a monster game. It was a great win against a Yale team which no doubt will be at or near the top of the IL. Next up is Monmouth.

The best thing about missing the game live, and watching the replay, was being able to fast-forward 20 seconds after every whistle, and thus avoid the bluster from the broadcast booth. (The first ten minutes were unbearable, thus introducing me to the >> button.)

Maybe because of Covid they were in a TV studio watching the game on a monitor! Would have missed a lot of plays, because us watching sure as hell did. The telecast was especially horrible on special teams plays. We got to see our coaches react to Yale's field goal, but not see the actual kick. Yale's last punt was a similar no-show. That game had absolutely no business using replays.
