Bringbackcaro needs to be creative on his after game posts today

Caro told us that our issue wasn't with coaching or talent or recruiting, it's with lack of experience.
Air Force ranks 347th in experience.
Joe Scott, who you said doesn't know whether a basketball is blown up or stuffed, embarrassed Nelson today.

So many turnovers! Can’t pay like that against a disciplined team!

A reminder, a thumbs up and thumbs down means I don't like the post but agree with it (that's my interpretation anyway).

When was the last time we didn't make a three-pointer in a game?

Maybe we can beat Bryant - but I am not counting on it.
Our only OOC win against a D1 school may be Central Connecticut

Joe Scott, who you said doesn't know whether a basketball is blown up or stuffed, embarrassed Nelson today. Not able to watch the game, so would love to hear some of your typical astute analysis on coaching decisions, what a different coach could have done better, etc? As always, appreciate the analysis! Looking at the box score, it appears that Senior AJ Walker (making his 80th career start) is having a pretty significant impact on the game, with 27 points and 3 assists so far. It’s definitely a coaching deficiency that he significantly outplayed our Senior-laden backcourt…. —- This is a dreadful period of Holy across basketball, but the last 8 days are nothing new. While many seem to have a very short memory, this has been the case with HC for about 98% of the past 12 years. What Brett Nelson has done to improve the program at this point can be argued, but he certainly hasn’t done anything to make the HC program worse than the sh*tshow he inherited when he arrived in July 2019.

Hope he won't have the injury experience of another Worcester HS grad, Neil Fingleton (rip).

I will say this BBC
We were down by 2 at the half and got blown out in the 2nd half.
That is a statement on the coaching IMO

It would at least suggest some consistency. Like you, I did not watch the game. That said, that level of disparity between halves against a team of relative equal ranking (285 v 325) on a neutral site says nothing good.

Sort of an analogy . . . . . .
When Jack Donohue was trying to schedule a basketball game with Notre Dame and they insisted all games would have to be played in South Bend, he told them "you must have me mixed up with the Holy Cross football coach."
Some who think this was an OK result must be having the AFA team mixed up with the AFA football team. So, it's been posted how AFA was as inexperienced as HC. It's been posted that the AFA is coached by a Carmody protogee, So, this loss must be chalked up to Crusader injuries, right?
"Wait til next year!"

HC plays Bryant tomorrow. Massey has Bryant as 4 point favorite (78-74) with a 61% chance for the win. They were upset today by Bethune-Cookman (81-75).

When I attended the open practice the thing that stood out to me was the apparent inability to shoot the ball. I was hoping that maybe it was a bad day but to date that doesn't appear to be the case. In today's game we have no hope of success if we can't be competitive from beyond the arc. Hopefully RJ can turn things around when he returns, because at present we aren't running any semblance of a cohesive offense. One on one ball is not going to get it done, Luc is the only one on the team capable taking his man off the dribble.

I wasn't able to stay nearly as long as many posters to the open practice but what I saw echoes what possum wrote. With very little exaggeration, it looked like I could have hit as many shots as the players. The best player on the court was the assistant coach who played at LeMoyne.

But to get blown out by a team of comparable quality is a reflection of the coaching. So far I have not seen anything with this coach that indicates he can be the difference in a game.

Too many mental mistakes early in the 2d half. Got down + 10, and it looked like the kids quit. Hate to say that, but they don’t suck. Joe Scott is a good coach. Kids are disciplined, shot dagger 3s. They are young and going to be very good. I’ll be there tomorrow, hope they come ready to play.

Although how hard is it to install discipline at a Service Academy?

Zero threes and one assist. Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
I know. "It's early." "We're too young"." We're missing 2 starters (today 1)".
We lost to a poor inexperienced AF team today. In fact, we were blown out in the second half.
The obvious questions at this point have to be:
1) Are our players subpar for Div I competition? 2) Is our head coach simply not up to the task at hand?
Or both.
I don't know. Maybe tomorrow with Bryant things will get a bit better.
Right now they couldn't look much worse.
