A quick start to the 2023 recruiting cycle -- in San Diego.
1. WR ROLLIN GEORGE III, 6-1, 180, Mater Dei HS, Chula Vista, CA.
2. ATH JUSTIN JOHNSON, 6-2, 185, Carlsbad HS, Carlsbad, CA.

Coach Makasi referenced in the tweets is the OC at Mater Dei.
Mater Dei's most recent Heisman winner is the current QB of some school in Tuscaloosa.
Methinks that HC's recruiting budget has been increased, substantially. I will note the recruiting budget was not a listed priority for the Fueling the Momentum campaign.

PP, I can't comment on the recruiting budget as I don't know specifics but can say with confidence that the mutual understanding between the Fueling Momentum Volunteers/silent phase donors and the college was that "if the Football program did in fact start raising 3X it's current CAF/GC contribution rate, that the college WOULD NOT decrease football's current share of the athletic department's operational budget. Everything was still being finalized but we were told if any changes were to occur, they would only be to INCREASE the Total operational budget. i.e. if we execute on this campaign, the college is going to do its part to step us funding as well. It's still early but I believe Kit and Vince are potential game changers. Both extremely competitive IMO (Vince's mandate obviously more than just athletics, but many of us really like what we've seen and heard about his strategic vision for the college)

FWIW, this is from the current strategic plan for athletics. The plan was published by Marcus.

So to borrow an old aphorism, a rising tide lifts all boats. .

I would expect HC to schedule Junior Days for the Class of 2023 beginning on Saturday, March 19th and each Saturday thereafter through the Spring game on April 9th. Junior Days usually include a period for observing Spring practice. I’d expect we will begin to see more robust activity with Class of 2023 recruiting during that time period.

I have seen several tweets in recent weeks regarding invitations to Holy Cross football Junior Days.
Here are several examples.

Saw on twitter - Dante Bruschi (son of Tedy) - 6'0" 225 lbs fb-lb from Bishop Feehan was on campus recently - unofficial visit as I'm sure it's a short ride Bishop Feehan is in Attleboro and has had several children of former Patriots on their roster, including Christian Fauria’s son, Caleb, who plays TE at Colorado. Feehan plays in the Catholic Central League. SS Joe Rivers played for Bishop Fenwick, which is also a member of that league and is a perennial conference champion.

I saw Dante play against the school my brother coaches against on Thanksgiving. He looked pretty solid....how he compares to other potential LBs, I couldn't begin to tell you. Good genes, no doubt.
