Hearing Gilchrist is taking HC job at Univ. of Chicago. Tremendous school academically. Good luck to Gilchrist. He’ll be coaching in obscurity out here in Chicago at U of Chicago.

No clue. Gunnell to WR. Cordova to RBs Great move because now you have Coach Gunell back coaching in his comfort zone. As a top flight reliever at BC I’m sure the wide receiver room will get some helpful lessons from a guy who’s played at the highest collegiate level.

Hearing Gilchrist is taking HC job at Univ. of Chicago. Tremendous school academically. Excellent school with a huge endowment. My wife went there to pursue a doctorate in economics, although she ended up with a terminal master's degree. The university's alumni magazine arrives in our mailbox every other month. It is rare to see an article about athletics in the magazine. In fact, I recall seeing a small article on the 40th anniversary of the reinstatement of varsity football. In a subsequent issue, a letter writer complained about the reinstatement of football, since he considered it a barbaric sport. Hence, I don't think it's a school with a rabid fan base. The upside is that I doubt coach Gilchrist will be lacking for resources.

They play on a Pop Warner field and my guess is Loyola of Wilmette or Mt. Carmel would beat them soundly. Again great school academically but not for athletics. My guess is Coach Gilchrist saw the writing on the wall with the addition of Coach Gunelle and took the first train out of Worcester.

Being a head coach is still a step up on most resumes. Best of luck to him in his new position.

To your earlier question rgs. He’s on the coaching roster because none of its updated. All coaches who have left still there and seniors who aren’t returning still there. Honestly - it’s foolish it’s not updated. Typical of this Department!!! We can and should be doing better!!! Kit, are you listening/watching??? Change is NEEDED!!! It gets worse. Coach Gilchrist has an active Twitter handle that appears when you Google Todd Gilchrist Holy Cross, but if you click the link to his Twitter account on his website bio, it brings you to a message that the account is suspended by Twitter for violating Twitter rules. That doesn't do Coach or the team/school any good to have the wrong Twitter account with a derogatory message linked to the website.

We are relaxed. Simply making a statement that it’s ridiculous it’s not updated. All good. It is ridiculous that they only have four staffers for 26 sports....Football is in the offseason you think the coaching staff roster is the most important thing when you have a baseball, softball, M+W lacrosse, M+W Golf, and M+W track all in season?

Foley likes to put words in peoples texts. Why? Because he’s a clown. I never wrote it’s the most important. I wrote it’s ridiculous it’s not updated. But again - as a fan of UNH - why do you really care? Let’s be factually accurate with what you write. Instead of acting like a clown.

I live in Chicago and they never even mention U of Chicago in the newspapers. Don’t care that they went 8-2. This is a very low level program. Eastern Illinois is TERRIBLE! Again great school academically but not known for it’s football prowess. By the way how did MIT do in football last year. There’s my comparison.

Football at “our” great institution is the only winning program so yes it be nice to see an updated coaching staff roster. Every sport you mentioned by all accounts can’t win a game so don’t really need to know who’s coaching them. I’m in favor of getting rid of some of those 26 (anchors) sports.

Looking at coaches' compensation at Univ of Chicago, Gilchrist is probably making more $$$ there than he did at HC. Football has by far the largest number of participants of any sport at Univ of Chicago, 106 participants in 2019.

Eastern Illinois has a pretty good track record of NFL QB's lately with two Walter Payton Award winners. But yea, tell me again that jumping from a U-Chicago right into a FCS job is a bad move. Even Chesney couldn't do that.

I'd have to think that being head coach at U Chicago is a great job for someone who loves football. I'm sure that the pay isn't extraordinary but you're working with extremely bright players and that has to be a plus. As well, I have to think there's less pressure on the coach and players than in higher divisions. I hope Coach Gilchrist has a long tenure as head coach-his three most recent predecessors were there for 5, 19, 8 years.
