I suspect the most powerful schools believe the easier transfer rules help them as they can use schools like HC as a minor league system. Remember the Golden Rule: He who has the gold makes the rules. Beat me to the punch. The power schools would likely want to amend the rules so you have to sit out a year to transfer to a “mid-major” but can play right away if you transfer to a P5 school but that may be too blatant a double standard even fir the NCAA

I would be surprised if the one-year sit out rule comes back as it previously existed. I think it’s gone for good, or if it does come back, it will have many more loopholes to give greater flexibility to the player. The old rule seems incongruous in the NIL era. OK, I get it now. Reinstating the one year sit rule could be painted as constraint of trade or some other infringement on players right to make a living now that college sports are officially a commercial enterprise. The SEC and ACC could say the sit rule is illegal in their "Right to work" States and Big East players could claim their teams are union shops. Dr. Naismith might not have nailed that peach basket to the wall at Springfield College if he could envision this mess.

Kit suggested a proposal that 1st transfer would get guarantee to finish undergrad degree; 2nd have to sit

Maybe sitting the first half of a season with no loopholes would pump the brakes and limit transfers to the truly needy (for a transfer).

Like I mentioned in one of these same-topic threads (maybe this one), under the old transfer rules I-AA/FCS football schools actually benefited because I-A => I-AA transfers did NOT have to sit but I-A => I-A or I-AA => I-A did. Delaware, JMU and App State definitely took advantage of this. Joe Flacco got to play right away when he left Pitt for Delaware. Had he transferred to another I-A school, he would've had to wait a year. This day in age, not only would Flacco have been able to go to another big school without having to sit, he'd get NIL $$ too on top of it. IMO for the major sports, the NCAA probably should consider going back to the one year having to sit out rule with exception of grad transfers. Even the grad transfer rule created a little bit of a "farm system" effect but I still think student athletes should be rewarded for finishing their undergrad work and having the opportunity to both play and take grad courses right away a ala RJ Evans.

My thoughts- player has to stay 2 years unless he/she wants to sit out a year.
Exceptions- hardship/extenuating circumstances appeals (like there were before); or, if the coach leaves, the players can, too.

Where Oh Where is our next true PG? There is one in the portal from Rice named Noah Hutchins who had about 20 offers coming out of High school in Buffalo. At least he would be used to the cold.

Maybe, one of our affluent alums can offer to pay a little extra NIL "spending money" to a worthy PG prospect for necessities such as a Corvette - obviously a feeble attempt at irony.

Lash is a 6-6 forward, from the Charlotte area (so presumably we have followed him awhile). Shot 32% from deep overall.

Dean Dome, Assembly Hall, off the top of my head. More specifically, a map of a state on a floor of a school where the school is not a state university or the like.
