CNN just reported DR. Fauci has tested positive for Covid. Why in the world did HC hold his ceremony indoors? How are our other attendees faring?

I did notice Dr. Fauci is very masked in one picture in the thread. To the extent that is reassuring or otherwise to attendees.
It is quite possible an attendee spread it to Dr. Fauci. 😱😱

How do we know Dr F. got COVID at HC?

We don't. He could have got it anywhere. But curious that the talk was held indoors only because Dr. Fauci is the architect of the Public Health guidance that outdoors is better than indoors.

How do we know Dr F. got COVID at HC? We don’t. Humans breath and spread respiratory viruses. And not just recently. And not just Covid.

It was indoors because that was the atrium that is named for him in the HC Science Complex. Outdoors would not have been quite the same.

"Typhoid Tony"? On a more serious note, I believe Dr. Fauci was tested prior to his arrival on Mt. St. James. Government leaders are tested frequently and in some cases on a daily basis. He has a "mild" infection no doubt due to vaccinations. However, mild cases can develop into something more dangerous & deadly even for the vaccinated. Although, it is exceedingly rare. He is 81. I, for one, am going to give a shout-out to the Lord in prayer for Dr. Fauci's speedy recovery. He is truly a wonderful Crusader.

I'm old and memory gone so not sure I posted this story already or not. One of my classmates and his wife at breakfast before the dedication said when they returned to the hotel the night before, they shared an elevator with Dr. Fauci, who was masked, BUT, big BUT, his two huge bodyguards were NOT masked. So, 5 of them in a small elevator,1 3 of them masked, 4 2 not. [Edit: my wife's memory better than mine, my Classmate and his wife were not wearing masks]. Presumably between his vaccinations and mask he'd be pretty safe but if his bodyguards get it and the good doctor takes the mask off . . . . . breakthrough time. BTW, 2 of my Classmates said despite vaccinations and booster shots, they had, but recovered, from Covid but thought it interesting they had no idea when I used the term "breakthrough" infection. Wife and I have had some cold symptoms - I had before the Reunion but thought it had gone away. Afterwards, cold symptoms back and wife has them too. I tested negative before the Reunion and re-tested after, as did the wife and we are both negative. If those are false negatives, I'll blame Crucis even with his triple masking!

We got a brief mention on ABC News as the site of a ceremony honoring Dr. Fauci (in the context of his positive Covid test). Not sure why a trillionth positive Covid test result merits a national ‘news’ report, I guess it is the Fauci name.

I tested just before my arrival to campus on Friday afternoon. I was negative. 😷😷😷
Just tested again, at 7:00 PM EST, the line is again on C, 😷😷😷 Guess I am not the source. 🤣
Have triple mask will travel😳
Stay safe and well. Still mask up. If not you travel at your own peril.
Glad you are negative.

The Holy Cross dedication was shown in a brief video clip tonight on “Inside Edition” as they mentioned Dr. Fauci’s positive test.
Let’s hope that the exposure during the Reunion Weekend was limited.

Obviously, Dr. Fauci has been the leader in America's Covid response. Currently he is the Chief Medical Advisor to the President. It is understandable his Covid infection would garner national attention. In addition, he is respected and admired by millions around the world. And, he is a proud Crusader.

Unless news reports suggest that Dr Fauci contracted Covid while at a Holy Cross event I don’t think this will reflect negatively on the College.

Unless news reports suggest that Dr Fauci contracted Covid while at a Holy Cross event I don’t think this will reflect negatively on the College. It is literally the worst thing that could have happened at that event. It should be an easy fluff piece on the news as a positive for HC but now it isn't.

Nice to hear and see and mention of Holy Cross, at the start of the bottom half of the second inning of the WooSox game against Toledo, currently being broadcast on NESN+. A brief Ad by the broadcast team regarding Alma Mater.

Yeah, referred to the “university” multiple times. That’s understandable if it was “California Live” but not MassLive.

Lesson Learned.....
Semper gero, masca protectiva.
I believe that is the correct translation from my past of studying Latin. For our scholars who studied extensively the language, please provide the correct phrase.
The Mass Live article indicated that 3 people who attended Reunion have notified HC of testing positive after last weekend. Has anyone on Crossports, who was in attendance last weekend received a notification regarding their need to test?
