Best SWB area recruit since Bruce Kozerski? If this is another Bruce Kozerski we’ve done fairly well. (I’m self-nominating this post as understatement of the century).

He's a K/P. He wasn't one of the commits we were expecting in terms of #15 and #16. So this would be #17.
Looks like he's a switch hitter in baseball. You don't see that much these days.

Welcome to our newest Crusader commit. This young man is a big time get. He made a great decision. No doubt he will love the Cross even more as he experiences all that HC offers. It truly is an amazing place. It's a win-win all around.

Dual commitment for football and baseball (plays 3B and SS). Coach Williams coached the U-17 team at the Nelson Baseball School in Marietta, GA. Two graduates of that school were drafted in the recent MLB draft.

return of the 2 sport athlete? I wonder how PL roster rules work in this case? a p/w/o for baseball?

What great article! He really gets us, and this kind of publicity is gold.

return of the 2 sport athlete? I wonder how PL roster rules work in this case? a p/w/o for baseball? IIRC, this was discussed back when scollies were re-introduced. If a recruit receives ANY financial aid (including need-based aid) for another sport and plays football, he is a counter when it comes to the FCS cap of 85 players receiving fin aid. (IIRC, we were initially stumped by ROTC aid, as to whether that was also a counter, and concluded it was not, as the aid originated from the Federal government, and not from the school.) ------------------------------------------- There is a university in Texas, I want to say Texas Tech, where the entire roster of the football team has a NIL. I wonder how that squares with the FBS cap of 85.

I wonder how that squares with the FBS cap of 85. I'm guessing there is no relationship between (1) the limits on the number of scholarship players and (2) NIL arrangements, We might well see players who do not get a penny in scholarship $$$ but who are fortunate enough to land, say, a $200,000 NIL payment per year. Coach X: "Young man, we're so glad you came to visit us at Big State U. While we cannot offer you a scholarship (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) there's a man in the next room who'd like to talk to you about using your name, image, and likeness to promote his car dealership if you settle here in our town." Thus, limits on the number of scholarship players may become essentially obsolete

Scott James is signalling another commitment. I think that means three commitments waiting to be revealed.

Breezy is right. We are waiting on three names. And if they all post. Home runs This class is foolishly good if they all stick. These three are GOOD players.

Really really like this kid on film. Runs extremely well. Finishes tackles. Great vision and instincts. Weight room warrior. Might have a shot to play as a freshman. Locked down 2 of the 3 LBs we were targeting. HUGE! Now we just need some DB’s and this class is on its way to potentially a Top 10 FCS class in the nation. Other D-1 offers from Navy, Missouri State, Furman, Wofford, Colgate, Lehigh and Fordham.

Jones announced his HC offer on 7/16 and announced his final four of Army, Navy, HC and Richmond on 7/22. Hopefully that means he found what he was looking for at HC. Last offer before that was in May.

I'll reset the deck here on 8/18.
Posted commits (15):
QB - Austen Frattura RB - Jayden Clerveaux WR - Max Warren, Charly Mullally TE - Lacota Dippre, Luke Petitta OL - Bennett Nunnally, Will Janis, Colin Beesley, Thomas Biel, Sean Woods
DL - Will Robinson, Brice Stevenson LB - Drew Spinogatti, Ross Dansdill DB - we will see on Sunday about Cam Jones (fingers crossed)
There are two verbal commits (per Scott James signals) that haven't posted. Hopefully one of those is Cam Jones.
He'd be the 16th commit. You could count the 17th as the baseball player/punter as well. I personally think this class will be 27/28 kids large. I think they have another 10/11 players to go.
The only hole I see in this ridiculous class is DB. I'd guess if they get another 10 verbal commits that 5 to 6 of them are DBs simply based on what's leaving after this year in terms of numbers.
Based on all of that I could see the focus on 10 additional kids as follows:
2 DL, 6 DBs, 1 LB, 1 WR or RB
