Four second round games are on Friday night. Need lights. Four second round games are on Saturday (Dee 3). I believe at least two of these games could be day games. A Friday night game in the cold aluminum of Fitton will draw very few fans. For HC to get a bye, someone has to beat Delaware and HC has to run the table. We are five weeks into the season. A whole lot can happen. Best not to speak in such certainties. Both HC and Delaware could get seeds.

Put lights up for Fordham game and keep them up through the playoffs.. Fordham game is at 1 PM Sun sets at 5:45 PM Even with current lengths of telecasts, this game should not need lights.

Doesn't that assume a sunny day or at least clear one? What if it is overcast or raining?

I think our seeding is simple. If we go 11-0, we get a seed from 5 to 8 and the bye. If we lose a game, we’re playing in the first round again.

If we lose the PL by losing one game, two teams get in. BTW we’re not losing so I can see a different scenario possibly resulting in two PL teams getting in… If Fordham loses a relatively tight game to us but continues to go bananas on offense versus the (VERY) weak rest of its schedule perhaps they’d sneak in with an at-large. (Their two losses would be tight ones to an FBS and highly ranked HC).

Probably too early to be doing this, but this is a message board, so.....
Good news from Missoula, as Idaho is about to upset Montana.
I think we have to hope that the Big Sky and Missouri Valley teams beat up each other, which can only help us. Not only do we want a seed, but we want the opportunity to host a couple of games.

That is huge. Massey had Montana at 3, and favored by 14 (80%). Bassett had them at 80-90%. Montana has back to back road challenges at Sac State and Weber St, so this loss really hurts them. They could be 2 or 3 loss team when it is all said and done.

Sitting listening to a few seniors in high school deliver their Chapel speeches before the entire school this morning and the theme of gratitude came up with regard to our 4-0 start to the football season. The team has their most difficult challenge ahead at Lawrence Academy this weekend. He said that some guys are superstitious and reminding the team to focus on one game at a time: "do not get ahead of ourselves. Beat the opponent we are facing on the field not the one next week or the one in our heads." Meanwhile, other guys are citing the latest poll or write-up in the Boston Herald and Globe about the squad. He advised everyone to live in the moment, celebrating each play, each series, each victory, but planning for the future. He wanted his teammates to be grateful for each win without worrying about running the table or being superstitious about getting ahead of us. As I look at our Holy Cross schedule and polls, I can't help but think of this young man's words. Let's be grateful for each win and moment (that I have not yet experienced with HC football in the 16 or 17 years of following) and focus on that. Let's go undefeated this week!

I thought the details might be mere ancillary comments to the story. Iggy is correct. I am at St. Sebs in Needham, MA. We have a speaking program that requires all students to deliver a speech. Seniors have to give theirs to the whole school. The senior today recounted the "noise" of being an undefeated team.
