A nice opportunity for Nelson to pick up his second OOC win this coming weekend and into next week.
Of the four teams heading to the Bronx this weekend, we are probably the worst one, based on early results.
Stonehill is 1-2 (blown out by UConn, close loss to Quinnipiac, beat Army). That Quinnipiac team is 3-0 with a win against URI.
Fordham is 1-1 (win over Dartmouth, blown out against Arkansas).
UIC is 2-1 (non-D1 win, close loss to Loyola-Chicago, win over Jacksonville State).
With four days of prep, three games under our belts, and playing against competition that is more suited to our talent-level and coaching-abilities (all three teams ranked 200+), these games should tell us a lot of what we can expect for the rest of the OOC and season.
Going to be important to find a way to beat Stonehill (no walk in the park) because I don't see us beating Fordham and UIC.
Being 1-5 heading into the Tom Sawyer (H/T Dave) game (a game that MIGHT draw 300 fans the Sunday after Thanksgiving) will be a sobering and depressing thought.

By the way, in looking at the schedule of games at Fordham, it doesn't appear the games in which Fordham isn't involved in will have a broadcast component.

Stonehill is #319 in offensive efficiency (converting possession to points) and #355 in defensive efficiency per Ken Pomeroy based on first three games

So you can't go to the games unless you have the latest booster shot, and you also can't watch two of the three games at home? While I loved the idea of playing in this tournament, 3 games in NYC, a game against Fordham, etc., that's a really poor setup.

Hard to belie the that that booster requirement was enforced during their football season. Was it only for indoor events ?

Massey makes HC (Ranked 347) a 4 point favorite (72-68) over Stonehill (Ranked at #349) and gives us a 61% chance for the win. We'll see (or we may not if there is no broadcast).

Do I need to remind you that Tom Sawyer is a modern day warrior - mean mean stride? Helps some for locals that Pats don't play that day. Students will be drifting back from break

From the Fordham athletic office --
"We are working on producing a stream but it will not be on ESPN+, most likely it will be on youtube."

From the Fordham athletic office -- "We are working on producing a stream but it will not be on ESPN+, most likely it will be on youtube." Where is WCHC? Student interest to travel and broadcast and sit courtside? Beyond relying on the charity of hungry college students, this D1 program doesn't have any arrangement to cover its team?

Also thanks to Marcus Blossom HC is also likely the only D1 program in the country without FB and BB on local terrestrial radio.

He transferred down the highway to Tom Sawyer and only played a litte, iirc.

Too late for me to look it up, but it was probably Colby-no-Sawyer, not Colby-Sawyer; as the latter does not have a football program.

That would make more sense since it's more of a lateral transfer academically from Dartmouth to Colby than Dartmouth to Colby Sawyer. Just looked him up. Amazing journey. The kid is only 5'8" and spent 2015 and 16 on the jayvee squad at Dartmouth then he spent 2017 his junior year, at Colby College where he appeared in seven games and completed two passes for 21 yards. Then he spent 2018, his senior year back at Dartmouth playing some more jayvee and working his way into the last varsity game of the season to record a one yard quarterback sneak. Nice of Dartmouth to let him transfer back in.

Strange. How often do you hear about a reverse transfer?
Not counting someone struggling academically, personally or financially at a top flight school, taking a semester or year off to take classes at a local state school and then coming back.

One of my hs friends was a big customer of the Mass Pike and NY Thruway; from HC to Hobart to HC, maybe an extra stop in between, can't remember.. Took 5 years instead of 4 but in the end he did ok.
