I walked up to one of the game officials after the game and was told this crew was from the Ohio Valley Conference. The announcers mentioned that the referee was from the Ohio Valley Conference, so the whole crew was from that conference then.

The ESPN+ announcers strayed into verboten territory in the 4th QTR and discussed a possible Chesney departure. This year or next.

36 with mix of rain and snow showers in Brookings next Saturday. Good weather earlier in the week for flying! When I went in at around 11:50, they were no longer scanning but asking us to show our phones. No guarantee the game will be on Saturday, according to the ESPN site, 2 of the 4 games are scheduled for Friday.

Field held up well and if you listen to the UNH players at the press conference, the unfamiliarity of how to cut and run on wet grass may have been an advantage for us. Keep the grass forevah!

The attendance may be understated. I know that at the entrance on east end they were having trouble scanning tickets to the point where there were a few hundred people in line. They finally gave up scanning and just let folks in without scanning. Doubt any of those were included in the count. They were not scanning when I went in at 11:45.

And the stadium announcer could her heard clearly, at least on the ESPN+ broadcast. I thought the grass turf held up well, I saw only one big divot in the course of a play.

Attendance 6265 22 degrees in Sioux Falls I'd say the actual attendance was well in excess of 8,000, and I was VERY impressed with how many people came back to the stands after sheltering underneath for halftime. It was a hearty and a hardy bunch, and despite the (mostly) on again and (rarely) off again showers, a good time was had by all, I loved that the team went to the closed end-zone as the game ended to salute the students - especially the boisterous shirtless guys. There must have been forty or fifty of them! Let's even the score with the Jacks next Saturday. I don't care what the odds-makers determine for a betting line. DO NOT count out these Crusaders!

Will we have the wind in the 3rd or the 4th ? If the score had been 14 or 17 to 5, yes, agree with it 100%. But 7-5, I think it was kind of risky. But, it sure worked having the Wildcats turn it over twice.

Holding a 9-3 CAA team to 22 yards rushing is a feat. We were able to get pressure on Brosmer, especially in the 3rd and 4th when it was obvious passing situations. We held UNH to fewer rushing yards than Bucknell. Let that sink in.
Massey at 5 pts, Bassett at 10 pts, Vegas at somewhere between 7.5 and 8.5. Love to see what they say next week. See how we do with wind and snow showers against a team with a penchant for choking.

Peter Oliver passed Jerome Fuller today and now stands #4 in all-time rushing yardage for HC behind (1) Gill the Thrill, (2) Joe Segretti, (3) Steve Silva. Matt Sluka now has 28 career rushing touchdowns, good for # 3 on the all-time list behind Segretti and Silva. Matt has 1021 rushing yards for the season, most ever by a quarterback and #9 all-time for a single season.
Hopefully lots more yards and td's coming next weekend

As far as I know there's not a single person on Crossports who knows what Chesney's contract (they're not all the same) says or what he's thinking. It's all idle speculation.

Saw him on the way up to the press box as halftime was ending. Don't get or read the Boston papers and wasn't about to glad hand him. As my Classmate said, "I hope that jerk has to stand in the rain like the rest of us but I guess he's going to be in the dry press box."
I'll let someone who reads him tell us what, if anything, he wrote about the game.

Unquestionably, we were aided by the rain and slick field. However, their total gain rushing was 68 yards, offset by 46 yards lost for the 22 net. In large part because of the great TFL. Jake Reichwein had 2 for 8; Liam Anderson was spectacular with 3 for 7 tracking down Laube behind the line; Kuznetsov had 1 for 7; Vaganek had 1 for 8. The latter 2 were sacks.
