I think you are being overly critical of Ng. He made a lot of big kicks for HC over the years. His 35 yd extra point against Fordham was truly clutch. Miss that, no OT, no Assante two point conversion and possibly no playoffs. Sorrey, but he was 13-22 on FGs this year after trying leave HC in the dust through the Transfer Portal last year and then completely whiffing today just doesn’t sit well with me. (He also missed a kick before half in the Fordham game when HC was down 3.) Really, you're going to disparage a kicker who had an absolutely phenomenal 4.5 year career at HC. He had some rough moments in the playoffs and had a strage inability to make short kicks from the left hash. But to blame him for exploring portal options is a little low IMO -- he was likely considering the grad school route, realized he wasn't getting a scholly anywhere (although I'm sure he could've walked on and won the job a lot of places) and his close ties w Chesney and teammates kept him here. Thanks for many great memories Derek!

Holy Cross has the best, non-public, football fanbase of any FCS school in America....who tops us?
Why I throw out the:"Notre Dame of FCS" moniker

Thanks for many great memories Derek! I have said I think he has an injured plant foot which impacts his technique/accorion motion at contact I had five college level kickers in the family so my kids and their coaches taught me a bit about Kos,,punts, and fgs- although I can't say I remember much but they told me their plant foot health made a big difference

Thanks for many great memories Derek! In the three playoff games we lost the last three years, he was 2-6 on FGs. This was his tweet when he went into the portal. Sorrey, but if you’re hitting the portal as a next step to the NFL, IMHOFWIW you better really bring it if you don’t get any better offers and make your way back to HC. He didn’t this year, and didn’t today.

For alums, maybe,,,,but if you throw in our "subway alumni" in Greater Worcester, I don't think anyone tops us in the non-public school for fan support at the FCS-level fan-wise in America.

UIW is not in the discussion. They average around 2500 a game at home. And their home playoff game vs Furman drew 2343.

Kaftan12 are you out of your mind. He ran for over 200 against the best run D in FCS. Yes he missed a couple throws. The game changed on Ng’s 5th straight missed FG. And the non tackle by Prince and Haskins. Haskins had a very tough 4th quarter.

Re: Attendance, extremely disappointing. I was hopeful for 10k, planned on 8k. Next week will be 12k I’d assume but there will be 4-5k from Bozeman. Jack, from the broadcast, it appeared the visitors side had maybe 700 or so. I don't know how many seats there are on the visitors side, but there were more fans on the visitors side at SDSU than there were on the visitors side at HC for UNH.

Harvard and Yale when they play each other. This year, among the non-publics, HC was second to Harvard in average attendance.

Matt had a great day running around on either broken plays or designed runs. I can live with the exceptional athleticism on the broken plays, problem is the designed runs. If our offense is built around a QB running around and not involving the rest of the playmakers this is the best we will be on a national scale. I know Harry talks about 200 yards rushing, if Matt had 250 yds passing and 100 rushing today we win. I’m not sure if that’s an option right now, either we build an offense around a “team”, or we will never get to the finish line. My biggest concern now is who comes back??? If we are being honest as a receiver, running back or TE what do you have to gain in this system. At some point and time Matt will be gone and we need a system that involves everybody instead of one individual. I know this is going to piss off some people on this board, but sometimes the hard decisions are the right decisions. The boys had an unbelievable season let’s not take that from them. But, as a program and a team 1 guy can’t do it all. Congrats to all the Coaches, staff and boys they had one hell of a year.

I believe a thank you to the SDSU athletic department is in order --for completely clearing the field of the significant snowfall the day prior. From the broadcast, I didn't see any slipping or sliding on slick spots. It certainly looked like sure footing.

Loses hurt but this was an incredible season. There should be absolutely nothing to complain about. The Dakota and Montana FCS schools are at another level. HC ran pretty much even with them for the entire game.
So much gained this season. Thanks HC Football.

I think the team was actually pretty balanced this year just not in this game. We beat the UNH game as much on the legs of Peter Oliver as much as by Sluka. I think Coker had 10 TD receptions this year. We were facing the top defensive line in FCS today and Sluka running was our best chance to win.

New advisor Matt Sluka 191.46 passing 94.92 rushing These are his season’s averages even with the uniqueness of today due to the dominant defense of the #1 team. This totally counters your argument.
