You don't shoot football at BC because on campus parking is hard to come by but you get on campus parking?

Not to wish the summer away, but can we buy tix through HC yet ? And hopefully there’s a nice celebration somewhere in Boston later that night. I've heard going to a nightclub in Boston after a major HC football upset over rival BC is a bad idea.

Apparently it is hard to park on campus too? Dating myself a bit here -- went to a BC home game with family in I think 1998 against Navy and IIRC we parked in one of the big parking garages. I stayed with a friend in Ipswich prior to the recent Holy Cross-BC game and took MBTA and the T to the game. Likely staying with my friend in Beverly this time around, so probably doing the same thing travel wise.

That sounds like a plan but, again, I had no issues with the offsite parking and free shuttle bus which I assume they will do again. Now, I just have to get my tickets! BTW, I was very pleasantly surprised at how welcome the BC folks made us feel before, during and after the game (well, you can understand that last part) while we were all dressed in purple. And we had a HUGE Crusader fan base there. I expect the same this year, except the results will likely be much different and we may not be as accepted after the game. P.S. At least we know Foley won't be there.

You don't shoot football at BC because on campus parking is hard to come by but you get on campus parking? It is just a pain in the ass to get out of there after a game. A four hour day turns into six hours. Less pay on the time worked with traffic and more issues.

Parked at a satellite lot last time and took a free shuttle bus that was about half Crusader and half Eagle fans. Good natured ribbing back and forth but mostly old Eagles who were as happy to play HC as the HC were to play BC again. My recollection was the parking was reasonably priced, $10-$20 and in a garage. Wish my memory was better.😊Maybe this isn’t the most important thing for me to remember and so it’s filed in a far back drawer in my brain. I did that last time - garage near the Stockyard, and they put us on a school bus for a long slog that ended adjacent to the campus. School bus seating is not designed for grown-ups! My knees haven't been the same since.

Well, yeah, it was a school bus not comfy Silver Fox coach but worked for me.

This game should be very well attended. Maybe not a sellout given state of BC program, but close. 15K in purple for sure. I can't see many Holy Cross diehards missing this game. Maybe a generation opportunity for us to have a fighting chance to beat the Eagles. For those who have not attended a BC game, a fair warning that on campus parking is extremely difficult to secure. Most on campus spots are reserved for season ticket holders who I am told pay a pretty penny for a parking spot (I hear a single parking spot on Shea Field which is adjacent to the stadium is over $5K for the season). Many who attend either take public transportation (the MBTA Green Line has a BC stop) or park in one of the satellite lots (Newton Campus and the like) and take a shuttle bus to Alumni Stadium. Last time took the shuttle from the Newton Campus to Alumni....worked well. Maybe a half mile (at most) walk from where it drops you off (at least where the dropoff was in 2018). The Green Line stops (Longwood Tennis and Cleveland Circle) are a bit further than that. There's also the line that comes out of Boston and goes along Comm. Ave., in front of St. Ignatius is the last stop. The walk from there's not bad.

OK, for you BC parking experts, if one were to have a disabled license plate/placard, would they get to park close in and free?
No, I don't have one and not even "asking for a friend" but just curious.
I did have a temporary placard a few years back after some surgery. Funny how when you don't have one, parking lots seem to have way too many disabled parking spaces and when you do have the placard there aren't enough spaces. Guess it's all one's perspective.

Why in heavens name would one google anything, when we have a team of experts on all subjects right here on Crossports? Sometimes I just don't understand your thinking.

For the pure joy of discovery 1970!
Phreek really isn’t as knowledgeable as you think he is, he just has a really good search engine and asks the right questions. He loves to find nuggets of information because as Sir Francis Bacon said … knowledge is power.
(Now someone will Google that and tell me why I’m taking that quote out of context and Bacon really didn’t use the phrase in the way we use it today!) 😄

Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes I heard during one of my business trips to Omaha: “What does the letter N on the U of Nebraska football helmet stand for?” Answer: knowledge….

Some good intel in our week 2 opponent. DL is considered BCs most talented position group. Since our OL is arguably our best position group, this would seem to be one of the key matchups to watch on Sept. 9.

Are we their game #2? Locker room material!😊

Locker room material!😊 Pretty arrogant coming from a writer whose team went 3-9 with a loss to UConn last year. If we do end up giving BC a tough test, I don't think many BC supporters will see it coming. Most would be too arrogant to even do a quick recent results search and notice that we've beaten FBS teams two straight years, one of whom was a bowl team (Buffalo) and the other of whom beat BC a year after we beat them (UConn). On my HS alumni basketball team who I grab after-work beers with on an intermittent basis, there are two HC guys and 3 BC guys. Preliminary discussions of a road trip for this year's game have taken place already. However, I can tell you that none of the BC alum have any inkling that it might even possibly be a competitive football game. And these are guys who all at least casually follow BC football and who have talked about how bad their team has been of late and how they need a new coach. Trust me, they don't see it coming. BC has also only ever lost to one I-AA/FCS team since the 1978 split. And that was UMass....in 1978. A year in which BC went 0-11 and also lost to Holy Cross (we were still I-A). In fact, the only other time that they've even faced a competitive game from a I-AA team was in 2007 when they faced a Top 5 UMass squad who was defending national runner-up and would go onto the quarterfinals that year. I believe BC won that game by 10 points, and that was also a damn good BC team who finished in the Top 15 but made it as high as #2 in the BCS standings before losing back to back games against FSU and Maryland.
