ESPN broadcast of the HC-BC game would be great. Picture the pre-game hype. Two historic New England Jesuit rivals meet once again in the Park on the Fens. Black & white vids & photos right to the memories in color of the 50's and beyond. Pete Kimener catching "the bomb" in the upset of '66. Flutie dancing to the frustration of HC tacklers. Getting chills. GREAT! It would fully capture the feeling that is college football. Give another hoya... BEAT BC!

Here's the schedule for Week 2 of the 2023 college football season. Take a look. It's a week loaded with FBS vs. FCS games.so there are not a lot of compelling matchups. Highly unlikely College Game Day would go to Chestnut Hill that week, but I would not say it's a zero chance, as they have tended to pick 1 or 2 unexpected locations each season. fbschedules.com/2023-college-football-schedule/

Heard possibly ESPN as well. May as well get College Gameday to Chestnut Hill. When you look at the slate of games for this week, there aren’t many compelling ones. NC State - ND? Stanford - USC? I guess it wouldn’t totally shock me if ESPN (thanks, Burke!) were to pick a flyer location / game early on in the season.

I think Texas vs Alabama would be really tough to beat.

I think Texas vs Alabama would be really tough to beat. Exactly '16. Gameday is going to Tuscaloosa on 9/9 before they'd even give a thought about going to Chesnut Hill.

Given the score of our last game (62-14 and not nearly as close as the score indicates), national interest, and the conferences involved (ACC v PL) our game is the opposite of a compelling matchup.
But Gameday may be in Massachusetts for Army v Navy later in the season.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it in this thread, but the game is going to be televised on ACC Network Extra, which basically carries the game that's seen as less desirable than the ACC Network game. No chance Gameday is coming to Chestnut Hill lol (Says more about the state of BC's program than HC's.) That said, I don't need 'em too! I've been looking forward to this game since the end of last year. I think this game is going to have a lot of local interest and be a potential sellout. What % of the crowd will be dawning purple?

There will be a huge HC crowd in attendance. I’ve got my tickets. Lots of purple balloons in the air that day. Tailgating will be packed. #4 against the mighty mighty Eagles.😂😉

I watch ACCNX thru my ESPN app on my laptop/smart TV. Maine drew a reported 34K on a sunny September day last year v BC so we should be able to boost that by 10K for a reported sellout.

There was a very large HC contingent at Alumni Stadium in 2018 and that was largely before the Ray-Bans turnaround of the program.
I think a ticket to the 2023 affair will be a very hot commodity.

Those HC fans that show up at the bc game need to come to Fitton Field more often.

This game should be very well attended. Maybe not a sellout given state of BC program, but close.
15K in purple for sure. I can't see many Holy Cross diehards missing this game. Maybe a generation opportunity for us to have a fighting chance to beat the Eagles.

Uh, no. We (collectively) go to Fitton more than we go to Eagle Stadium. Just kidding. I know what you meant.

Hey, if KY can fly in from Louisville for every game at Fitton, O'Hare/Midway are easier and cheaper.

Maybe Barstool can go back to Portnoy's New England roots and take a flyer on an old Bay State rivalry. His alma mater Michigan is hosting UNLV that day, yawn. What HC-BC live broadcast (ESPN+) is going up against in same time slot: ESPN game at noon: Utah @ Baylor ESPN2 game at noon: Purdue @ Virginia Tech ABC: Notre Dame @ NC State BTN: Youngstown @ Ohio State CBS Sports: Delaware State @ Army FOX: Nebraska @ Colorado SECN: Ball State @ Georgia Vanderbilt @ Wake Forest kicks off at 11am and is being broadcast by ACC Network followed by Clemson-Chuck South at 2:!5pm...hence why our game isn't being shown on there.

Update on above, from someone who works at Barstool:
They will have their show in Colorado that day. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts apparently does not get along well with Barstool and Penn Entertainment.

Maybe a generation opportunity for us to have a fighting chance to beat the Eagles. For those who have not attended a BC game, a fair warning that on campus parking is extremely difficult to secure. Most on campus spots are reserved for season ticket holders who I am told pay a pretty penny for a parking spot (I hear a single parking spot on Shea Field which is adjacent to the stadium is over $5K for the season). Many who attend either take public transportation (the MBTA Green Line has a BC stop) or park in one of the satellite lots (Newton Campus and the like) and take a shuttle bus to Alumni Stadium.

Hopefully at around 2:15 when we are leading going into the 4th quarter, we'll begin having casual viewers flip over to the game.

Parked at a satellite lot last time and took a free shuttle bus that was about half Crusader and half Eagle fans. Good natured ribbing back and forth but mostly old Eagles who were as happy to play HC as the HC were to play BC again.
My recollection was the parking was reasonably priced, $10-$20 and in a garage. Wish my memory was better.😊Maybe this isn’t the most important thing for me to remember and so it’s filed in a far back drawer in my brain.

Not to wish the summer away, but can we buy tix through HC yet ?
And hopefully there’s a nice celebration somewhere in Boston later that night.

In mid-March, I asked my contact in the HC ticket office about getting tickets for the Army and BC games through Holy Cross. Here was the response:
