“It’s hard not to consider Holy Cross the biggest favorite going into any FCS conference race this season” Bulletin board material for a few schools, such as SDSU I find it laughable to even mention a school like SDSU at this point in the season. Our Crusaders still have a lot of business to handle in New England before we start even thinking about playoffs. HC was a few breaks away from losing at Buffalo, at Lafayette, and home against Bryant. An FCS football season is VERY long, and we are still talking about KIDS playing football; "one week at a time" is the best way to approach every team's season.

All very valid points except the "kids" part. That is an advantage we have over any TG coached team, a team loaded with not just seniors, but lots of 5th year seniors. (We may have as many 21-22 year olds on the football team as on the hockey team - close anyway! ) That experience level, especially for an offensive line, is invaluable. But, your comment and Bob Chesney's of "one game at a time" is truly something that the players have taken to heart.

Speaking of Decker at ODU, Fordham transfer QB Grant Wilson that left with Decker was just named starting QB. Was supposed to be "the guy" after Tim D which is why Fordham went the portal route with Montes. Curious if that's more a reflection of Wilson's talent or the shape of ODU's program - led be one year HC asst coach (2004) and stud Cornell QB Ricky Rahne Albany’s star frosh QB last year (Reese Poffenbarger…some might know the last name as his sister can play hoops) did redshirt at ODU the previous year.

Here’s an oddity- while Reese P is 6-0 his sister is 6-2.

Sluka could get injured on the first snap of the season and now the Holy Cross offense looks much different the rest of the year.

Never thought that losing one of the favorites for the Walter Payton award might change the offensive’s outlook.

Looks like Fordham was thumped by Albany over the weekend at least based on the final score.

The game was closer than the final score makes it appear, but Albany was clearly the better team.
